64SS350 Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 I am not familiar with the do's and don'ts of promo cars. I have this Rambler ambulance with multiple tries apparently at gluing on the emergency light. Can this be sanded and polished? Other ideas? Would applying BMF hurt the value? Best source for tires, some are kinda chopped up. Thanks, Karl
gtx6970 Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 They arent hard to find or big bucks anyway. Do with it that makes you happy
Mark Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 That looks like a reproduction promo (it's too straight to be an original). The plastic may be ABS (harder than styrene), if that is styrene cement on the roof then you may be able to sand/polish it out. I wouldn't worry about foil or added details, the wagon was produced in big numbers by Jo-Han standards so it is not particularly rare.
espo Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 Round 2 reissued the JoHan glue kit of this promo. Finding one would offer you many options to enhance your promo.

The box art shows an option of wood body trim in a decal along with a taxi. Keep your eye open for them the next time you're at a swap meet. As I recall the wagon on the box art is sort of a blue/green color.
SfanGoch Posted March 5, 2022 Posted March 5, 2022 Okey Spaulding sold the '59 Rambler wagon in the early 2000s, not Round2. Moebius supposedly was going to re-release the wagon and taxi; but, nothing came of it.
