I ended up getting this survivor off Ebay. Thanks to USPS it basically fell completely apart when I got it.  So being me, there were things that needed to change. Not the over all feel, just some details.

I originally was gonna put moons on the front wheels but remembered I had some clean chrome wheels that could be thinned out. then I thinned out some trim rings. Front tires are from the parts box.

Being that Im an East Coast/New England guy, and its already heavily channeled and unchopped...It needed a roll bar...I pulled one out of my parts box and shortened it up. I drilled 2 holes to help lock it in and it's good to go.

Current motor is my mock up from my Lindberg 32. I'm thinking the 394 Olds from the 40 Ford sedan will be a more aggressive option for the drag race vibe its taking on.

thanks to @Bullybeef, I have clean glass, a windshield frame and firewall coming to replace the broken/missing ones.

I want to shim the body to make it sit more level and once that's done, it's going on the shelf

I love finding and fixing up these old Amt deuces, got a nice little collection of them now, and lucky for Chris lots and lots of good spare parts.

AMT must have sold a buttload of them over the decades. The great thing about the survivors are there's no two alike, they're all different in their own way !

Nice looking little 32.  Nice mods.

thanks. Itll be the 3rd 5 window survivor  I've collected.   I'm also thinking about building my version starting with a Revell kit

Decided on the 394 Olds. I blended the seams a bit but didn't go my usual full blend. I'm really trying not to inject my OCD into this. One I want to stay true to the original build and Two I have other projects to do so this one has to get finished up.

I tamiya flat cleared all the chrome and then brought out the details with Tamiya panel accent. I have to decide on headers, paint them and the magneto still.

The original builder painted the roof insert. I didn't like the look so I used the old masking tape trick and replicated the factory style insert. I used a Magnum sharpie to lay down the black, figuring it'll fade out quicker than paint.  Wheel backs are drying, I'll get them assembled maybe tomorrow

Looking good. I like the contrast of the roof insert with the paint color.

Some cool stuff, really like the roof insert trick.

A.

thank you. I wish I could say I came up with it but I learned from the muscle car guys. They use it to create vinyl tops.

I've been running stupid the last few weeks. I couldn't find headers to fit between the frame and motor, so I decided to cut up a pair of original issue 40 sedan, modified the frame and stuffed the motor in there. If I were building it as a modern build, I'd have done more to make it work better but I'm trying to tap into the original build.

I got my glass and windshield frame from @Bullybeefso thats all glued on now as well.

tomorrow I need to make the dump tubes work, glue them in and make a few touch ups.

Glad that old junk made it to you safe and sound! I’m still working on headers for my project. The fun of working with vintage survivors and missing parts lol.
