jaymcminn Posted December 12, 2022 Posted December 12, 2022 (edited) Just heard this on Sirius XMU last night. My kind of Christmas song. NYC punk band The So So Glos with Spider Stacy from The Pogues. Edited December 12, 2022 by jaymcminn

Glad you tackled the dark years in your life and willing to share it so I'm guessing you're all good now. Yep, I always remember the Dolly Madison commercials. All good! It's not quite Unicorns farting rainbows but there you go. Besides, you get to the point you see memories in decades, the sharp edges start getting worn down. Now, I'm just a boring old man and I'm definitely good with that!!!
Mike C. Posted December 19, 2022 Posted December 19, 2022 I remember a bunch of us used to listen to this in the car coming back after surfing.
Mike C. Posted December 19, 2022 Posted December 19, 2022 Another favorite track from the same album.
Mike C. Posted December 24, 2022 Posted December 24, 2022 (edited) When I was a kid my cousin (who has 10 years on me) let me look after his record collection while he was moving around for a few years. That box of records greatly influenced my musical taste for the rest of my life. I had never heard bands like Led Zeppelin, Traffic, and Emerson, Lake and Palmer (my dad would listen to The Who, Chicago and Blood, Sweat and Tears and stuff like that). I do remember this record was in that box along with the live Woodstock album. Edited December 24, 2022 by Mike C.
Mike C. Posted December 24, 2022 Posted December 24, 2022 This album later became one of my favorites. 1

I have never been a big folk guy but this tune tune just hits me somehow. OMG The Seekers. YES. Along with a few others, they were the soundtrack of my childhood and their music stirs wonderful memories. This week as news programs present memoriams to those who passed in 2022, Judith Durham has been featured. The clarity of her voice is like an angel, which this week has led me to sort of trash out on Seekers music I haven't listened to in decades.
Mike C. Posted January 2, 2023 Posted January 2, 2023 The Walker Brothers - The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore. 1
Mike C. Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 I can remember this song one day on the beach in the middle of the summer in Wildwood NJ when I was a kid. I can still smell all the coconut suntan oil the girls had all over them mixing with the salt air. 1
Mike C. Posted January 10, 2023 Posted January 10, 2023 Marvin Gaye - Inner City Blues (Make Me Wanna Holler). 1
JollySipper Posted January 19, 2023 Author Posted January 19, 2023 There shouldn't be any guilt for liking Miles Davis....... 1
Calb56 Posted January 20, 2023 Posted January 20, 2023 Godley and Creme, I've loved them since my early 20s...
Mike C. Posted March 12, 2023 Posted March 12, 2023 I've been going back to the early Traffic that I loved so much around the same time I discovered good music like Led Zeppelin and Cream and stuff like that. Recently, my sister was playing music while in the kitchen and she was digging on Spencer Davis Groups "I'm a Man" and she couldn't believe that that was a 16-year-old Steve Winwood on vocals. Look how young they all look.
Snake45 Posted April 17, 2023 Posted April 17, 2023 Before Carrie Underwood, there was Kelly Clarkson, with this BADASS tune: 1
