Sergey Posted July 7, 2024 Author Posted July 7, 2024 (edited) Hello again! Thank you for comments! Here are some progress: While I was finishing the body and fixing the wheel arches, the moldings on the wings were worn out, plastered, in general, "blurred". I did the following: With a Tamiya knife with a double blade, I scratched a new embroidery along the wheel arch perimeter. Then, with an ordinary scalpel, I've removed a corner of excess resin along the perimeter of each arch. It's a painstaking job. But you can use this instrument also Let's move on: guitar string gate cables Here are 2x1mm magnets from Aliexpress. But you have to be careful: I knew about the polarity and it seemed to me that I had glued both magnets correctly. Of cource I screwed up! These crumbs in your fingers turn over just like that! So draw the polarity with a marker. This is a sure thing. Yes, while I was updating all the moldings, the scriber jumped off several times. And for some reason it is on the cargo body. I filled the scratches with a CA glue, but not a simple one. Here's the glue: https://www.plasticmodel.ru/cements/examples/183_1.jpg Yes, it is polished well, unlike a simple CA, but it is transparent! I was have to add black resin dye to it, just a little bit, otherwise it dries badly. I also tried to restore the badly casted trim lines on the couch Thank you for interest and Happy holydays! Sergey Posted December 26, 2024 Author Posted December 26, 2024 Hello again! I was tormented by vague doubts that the wheel disk (top right) and the rim (under it) won't meet together when put on the tire. I took a 16mm pipe for electrical wiring and cut off the millimeter ring with a knife. I rubbed it with sandpaper and got about 0.6 mm. The indicated rings are highlighted with arrows. I haven't buzer with the rear wheels. I used 16mm puncher to get a 0.4mm polystyrene disk and drilled holes for the axles. Many people don't remember, and the older ones didn't tell them, there was levers on the steering wheel. Like this: It doesn't take long to bend the wire, but the handle needs to be sharpened. Remind me to buy a ball joint vise for Proxxon next time. "Back in Black!" (c) Some PreShading Yes, I tried the Chinese stylus. Well, what can I say. You need to get used to it. It is, of course, suits for perfect seams. Approximately 0.3mm wide and the drain is the same depth. Otherwise, the styls flushing refuses to drain. 2
Sergey Posted December 29, 2024 Author Posted December 29, 2024 Hello again! Some interior (and not only) progress Masking for roof interior painting Thank you for stay turned! 1
James2 Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 Looking good. What kind of paint did you use for the interior? That is the flattest paint I've seen...
Bainford Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 Some very nice work here. It's coming along very nicely.
Sergey Posted December 31, 2024 Author Posted December 31, 2024 Thanks to everyone! The Paint is mix of Humbrol's 24, 62 & Tamiya's flat white. It seems I should cover the bench, spare wheel & door cards with semigloss varnish. Here is some wheels progress:
