Awesome build. One question. Is the business end coupled to a car rearend then out to a quick change then to the shafts? Taht is some major back yard engineering!

Gary, that is exactly what it is! Thanks to everyone for the comments. Never did anything like this before- just start with PT boat, throw in hot rod parts, some Duesenberg, shaken not stirred, and you get the Poodle Too.

Rusty, a lot of speed boats from the 20's and 30's had metal or metal sheathed prows, which I have replicated here. A couple of reference pix:
