cobraman Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 Search did not help so...... I have chopped the top on a 29 Ford body. I glued the parts together but I am not looking to finish the seem for a nice paint job. Going for a work in progress look. Youtube showed some guy using putty but I wondered if there is a better way. Thanks for any suggestions.
Oldmopars Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 (edited) Small half round or round stock. Use solvent type glue. Then go back with a small brass tube and carefully make the rounded marks that make it look like a weld. Use solvent glue to soften it, then at an angle press the tube lightly against it, repeat 500 times. For solvent glue, I use MEK, but LHS bottled stuff works good too. Ace-Garageguy Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 (edited) Archer weld bead decals. Similar to their rivets, they're resin castings on a clear carrier, so they provide a real 3D effect. https://archive.armorama.com/review/2764/ Edited July 7, 2022 by Ace-Garageguy 1

cobraman Posted July 7, 2022 Author Posted July 7, 2022 Thank you all for your replies. I think I will try the solder method . The decals look great but I don't know how quick they would be delivered and want to keep marching forward. 1
