I've made decals in the past for the wood beds , or if you can't do that then paint it and use foil for the strips . 1

My plan is to paint the whole bed with the Barn Wood since it's a lighter color then dry brush the Raw Wood which is a darker color. I'll hit the metal strips in the bed with my Molotow pen. The pic shows my 60 Chevy Truck which I did the same way but I didn't do any dry brushing. Just thought I would give that a try this time around. 1

Bugatti Fan Posted July 30, 2022 Posted July 30, 2022 An interesting thread to follow. I tend to like vintage pickups either stock of customised. And this build has resulted in a fine model by Bob. You live and learn from these threads. Using MR Colour Levelling Thinner was something I would never have thought of using with Tamiya acrylics. There must be a benefit over using Tamiya's own thinner I guess. Up to now I have been using a full size car sprayer's trick of doing a few very quick passes of neat thinners after the colour is laid on as a leveller, or alternatively a coat of clear lacquer afterwards.

Thanks man. Intresting about the thinner.
