I would love one of these. I already have a file I made for the wheels shown. I made them for the Revell Bronco dune buggy.

Those wheels would be a must for me too. Would they work with those Firestone/Gates commando tires?

I will say the good ones are not cheap. His runs ~$1000 plus tax mine is ~$2200 plus tax

I didn't really have a burning desire for a 3D scanner until now, but between this thread and the insta post I just saw from BlackBox....hmmmm!

Mike c , Just saw a Hot Wheels 1/64th of this Baja bug . Have Texas 3d custom scan the body of the Hot Wheels car, then enlarge it to the size you need in 1/25th or1/24th!

If it were that simple, I would think they would have done it by now.

All right Charles! You decided to go with the wide eye version. I check the site every day to see if it is available yet. Been itching for this one!

This is not as easy as it seems. But like I said I need a tester as my skills are not this good. There's also an engine cradle and front bumper

Sweet! You can send them to me if you want. I have a Revell bug kit for the donor car. I would say my building skills are above average.

Okay, here is the Baja bug project from Charles at Texas 3D Customs. Just a rough mockup wheels and side nerf bars coming later. This is using the Revell 1/24, '68 kit.

I'm going to have to measure my tamiya and revell bugs, i have a feeling from the pics that the baja kit will fit it too

It's probably important that its 1/24.

Looks great! If you can get it to fit the Tamiya Bug kit as well, you have a real winner on your hands! I would buy the 3d files, if you make them available, so I could print some for my builds.

Thanks

Larry

This is looking great.

Cool to see that it's becoming a reality!

Charles

And it's the "wide eyed" version. This one has never been done before in 1/24.

How about the exhaust? Haven't found the full exhaust available but did find this...

I'm sure Charles is working on a stinger exhaust of some kind. I'm going to use the one from the AMT Manx kit if I can get it to work. It's 1/25 while the revell kit is 1/24. I found the perfect wheels for this build but they cost more than most full price kits. I'm hoping they will work with the tires I plan on using.
