I made them for the Revell Bronco dune buggy. Those wheels would be a must for me too. Would they work with those Firestone/Gates commando tires? paul alflen
Mike c , Just saw a Hot Wheels 1/64th of this Baja bug . Have Texas 3d custom scan the body of the Hot Wheels car, then enlarge it to the size you need in 1/25th or1/24th!

Texas_3D_Customs
I need a beta tester someone with good model customizing skills. I can provide either my conversion or a whole kit but we can work out those details. 4
Mike C.
All right Charles! You decided to go with the wide eye version. I check the site every day to see if it is available yet. Been itching for this one!

Mike C.
Sweet! You can send them to me if you want. I have a Revell bug kit for the donor car. I would say my building skills are above average.

Mike C.
Okay, here is the Baja bug project from Charles at Texas 3D Customs. Just a rough mockup wheels and side nerf bars coming later. This is using the Revell 1/24, '68 kit. stitchdup
I'm going to have to measure my tamiya and revell bugs, i have a feeling from the pics that the baja kit will fit it too
Mike C.
I raised the suspension using some 4mm styrene tubing and some strips of styrene. Not too terribly difficult.

Finks Garage
Looks great! If you can get it to fit the Tamiya Bug kit as well, you have a real winner on your hands! I would buy the 3d files, if you make them available, so I could print some for my builds. Thanks Larry Edited September 23, 2022 by Finks Garage

Contact Charles at Texas 3D Customs. Ask him when the Baja bug kit will be available. Or you can just PM him on this board. We're still working out the bugs (no pun intended) before it goes into production. I'm going to use the one from the AMT Manx kit if I can get it to work. It's 1/25 while the revell kit is 1/24. I found the perfect wheels for this build but they cost more than most full price kits. I'm hoping they will work with the tires I plan on using. 1:24 VW Baja wheels and dragster tire set up | 3DScaleParts
