The toggles look great - but since they are printed resin - they are brittle - if you look closely - you’ll see

that the top/left toggle broke off fr handling and was replaced w a switch made fr nickel silver - but im a punishment glutten - so im also using some Decalcas brake and clutch parts - the number marker lights will be Decalcas 3D printed parts also …

The race numbers were changed from Daytona - where 2287 competed as 14 - to the Sebring “10s”  - the script is distinctive - note the shape of the “0” … the kit decal sheet gives marking options for the ‘65 team cars - but not for the ‘64 cars - so …

The splitter is made fr 3 parts of photo etch that are re-inforced with some .010 Evergreen strip for strength - then painted silver -

Tail lights - kit resin bezel air brushed w Molotow chr over a seal punched fr some black coated paper ….  Lights are pre-coated kit parts …

2287 had these cute - basically useless - “bumperettes” on the nose - another detail not carried over to the ‘65 cars … and some cleanup on the frame where it added length …

Did the Shelby team cars have lap belts in ‘64 competition?  The drivers were not required to use them - but they may have been installed …

I went through all the period photos of the Daytona interiors in both 1964 and 1965 and could not find even a hint of a seat belt.

The decal tire rings never seem to work for me - but the rear tires have a pronounced ridge - enough to allow me to air-brush a flat blue ring with Tamiya masking tape and a new xacto blade - the resin tire is sprayed gray and then blue … for the fronts - ill just pretend …

The Gooodyear markings are from an old Speedline decal set made by Cartograph  - the tires are air-brushed semi-gloss clear first - then the decal - and once everything dries/sets - ill overspray some flat …

Needed smaller 10s for the tail and bonnet - found the right font in W Perfect and printed on decal paper - the smudgies occurred when i handled the unsealed sheet too quickly - but i only need two … sealed with Tamiya semi- gl clear …

How good are the  VRM decal sheets?   I used the smaller of the two Cobra badge sizes on the Cobra sheet - check it out …

I believe this is a Douglas Morton(?) photo - showing the first use of the deflector on 2287’s bonnet - its a two part affair - mine are made by modifying the one part photo-etched kit part …

These copper sheets are thin and easy to bend - handy for making the glare shield for the dash - the rear view mirror was not mounted above the windshield on 2287 until some time after Daytona and Sebring -

probably when it was prepped for Lemans ….
