Keef Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 I sold off my entire stash a few years back to fund finishing my 1:1 project. Sold around 400 kits and numerous builtups along with all my paints, resin parts, supplies, tools, etc. Didnt realize how much I would miss it until I went to a local car show and a guy had some Mopar model kits for sale dirt cheap so I bought them. At last count I’m back up to about 100 kits and climbing! ?? 2
tbill Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 I have way too many kits, and I know it, and yet I still buy more. Granted, I’ll never build them all, but I also get joy out of looking at them. I do have multiples of some kits, but they are my favorites, and I’ve built multiple versions of some of them already. I average 12 builds a year, so I am making progress….., last count I was around 800 kits or so, but that was a few years ago now, I should do another inventory …. 3
iamsuperdan Posted October 18, 2023 Posted October 18, 2023 I have been trying to be good about not buying a lot of kits lately. I think I only picked up 2, maybe 3 new kits all summer. But then I saw two dirt cheap old kits at a garage sale, and those came home with me. So it was maybe 5 all summer. And then I went to England, and came home with 4 that I haven't seen here. *sigh* At least I'm being a little more sensible, and I am doing my best to not start anything new until I clear a few old builds from the bench. I think I have 12 or 13 that have been started and are in various stages of completion. 3
Tom Geiger Posted October 21, 2023 Posted October 21, 2023 This year I’ve only bought a few kits at shows, some old restorable built ups at GSL and 2 3D printed kits on eBay. I haven’t touched anything since the 24 HR Build, it was a crazy year for me! In the past few years I’d been concentrating on my unfinished pile.. actually neatly lined up on the shelf over my bench. 1
Tom Geiger Posted October 21, 2023 Posted October 21, 2023 Oops! I forgot! This is one of the restorable built ups I got at GSL for $5 each. It was messy and missing both bumpers and front suspension. Not a super build but I liked the color scheme and it looks good in my 57 Ford lineup 1
ewetwo Posted October 21, 2023 Posted October 21, 2023 When I sell a few. I will let myself buy a new one. So at least the count is slowly going down.
