Jiml0001 Posted September 19, 2022 Posted September 19, 2022 (edited) Found a great replacement for velocity stacks. Google “bootlace ferrules” and you can get a box with an assortment of sizes. I paid $11 for this assortment with 200 pieces in it. They are thin walled and beautifully chrome plated brass tubes. They really look fantastic and I think they look better than most of the aftermarket turned stacks or exhaust tips for a tiny fraction of the price Edited September 19, 2022 by Jiml0001 6
Rick L Posted September 19, 2022 Posted September 19, 2022 Now THAT is a great find. I just made some with a flaring tool and cutoff on a lathe. A little time consuming to get uniform. Thanks for sharing. 1
stitchdup Posted September 19, 2022 Posted September 19, 2022 i use marine electrical connectors. they have a plastic sheath but once you strip it away your left with nice stacks, and being marine they are stainless steel so polish up nice with a little thinners
Shark Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 Look at wire ferrules, there are some that look exactly like velocity stacks. That's what some of the aftermarket vendors are using.
Jiml0001 Posted September 20, 2022 Author Posted September 20, 2022 Bootlace ferrules are wire ferrules. Just another term for the same thing.
eastown Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 Where did you order them from? Thanks Bob.
bill-e-boy Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 get them from electrical supply wharehouses I am an industrial electrician and use hundreds of them when I build a control panel. The ones I use have an insulated end but if you carefully cut that off you have what is shown in the OP pix You can get them uninsulated as shown as well
Jiml0001 Posted September 22, 2022 Author Posted September 22, 2022 I got these on ebay. 600 total in 7 different sizes for $5.95 plus shipping
