Kenmojr Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 (edited) This 1934 Desoto car was converted to a tanker truck by local car customized, Chad Hiltz. I took the photos September 2019 at a Rick Rood's annual car show in Waterville, Nova Scotia. Has a model kit of an Chrysler or Desoto Airflow every been produced? Edited October 3, 2022 by Kenmojr 1
espo Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 I like the Art Deco design and don't recall seeing anything this nice on his TV program before. This styling looks like many of the commercial vehicles built in the late twenties and thirties.
misterNNL Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 Makes me wish we had a 1/25 scale Airflow in resin as a starting point for this style of vehicle. All I can find is a 3D file which does me no good at all.

Brian Austin Posted October 7, 2022 Posted October 7, 2022 That bank is not 1:25. It's closer to 1:30-something. 1
Brian Austin Posted October 7, 2022 Posted October 7, 2022 Franklin Mint did produce a 1934 Chrysler Airflow coupe. There is also an Airflow sedan in 1:32 mass-market diecast. Note that DeSoto's Airflows had a shorter wheelbase and different nose styling from the Chrysler line. Dodge did also produce a relatively small number of Airflow-styled truck cab-chassis. Many had streamlined tanker bodies mounted, though I don't think I've seen one with a tandem axle such as this custom. As Chrysler Airflows are seldom seen these days out and about, I think DeSoto ones are even less common.

I almost went down that rabbit hole, but thankfully, a seller posted the dimensions of the model, which were clearly well under 1/25. Edited October 7, 2022 by Ace-Garageguy 1

bill-e-boy Posted October 28, 2022 Posted October 28, 2022 Could use the Tamiya Toyoda as a starting point 1
Joe Nunes Posted October 29, 2022 Posted October 29, 2022 I really like this truck design and the colors are great! Joe
Joe Nunes Posted October 29, 2022 Posted October 29, 2022 Forgot to add that I chuckled to myself when I noticed it was a Cider truck! Too cool! Joe
ea0863 Posted November 3, 2022 Posted November 3, 2022 If you guys like water trucks, you'll get a kick out of this photo! I took it last weekend in Nelson Nevada.

Ace-Garageguy Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 This is the only thing I've ever seen from Bad Chad that's not immediately puke-inducing.

Brian Austin Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 I fell into watching a small number of Bad Chad episodes on Motor Trend channel just last week. I don't think I'll be watching any more.
