TracerB
Does anyone know of a 1/25 scale kit (other than the Trumpeter Nova) that has a decent Chevrolet straight six. I tried the one out of the 50s era chevy truck but it's WAY to big for the 57 Chevy 110 sedan. Any help you;ld be much appreciated. Even the name of an aftermarket vendor would be great! Oldcarfan27
AMT 51 Chevy, 53 Corvette, 60 Chevy pickup, 37 Chevy. Galaxie Limited 47/48 Chevies. While the OHC6 in the AMT/MPC 69 Firebird is a Pontiac, the basic block is a 250 Chevy car engine used throughout the 70s. But that might not be what you're looking for. Plowboy
How is the six from the '50 Chevy pickup way too big? I used one in a '51 Chevy and it fit fine. If it's the length, you may have to put the radiator in front of the support.

espo
Plowboy makes a very good point that some may not realize. The '55 thru '57 Chevrolets built with a six-cylinder engine had the radiators mounted in front of the core support since the engine was longer than the V8 engines. May stand to reason that the same clearance issue would exist with our scale models. Should you be trying to build a stock engine the air cleaner in the resent Round 2 reissue of the Chevrolet pickup may have the closest to original shape. For a slightly modified engine the old AMT Corvette kit offered two different carb. setups.

1972coronet
The reissued Nova Wagon -- the one with the trailer, etc. -- has a nice looking I-6/Powerglide .
Mark
The Pontiac OHC engine did use some internals from the Chevy six, but the blocks are NOT the same, and don't look anywhere near the same other than being inline sixes.

Mark
"...but all components were either modified, or of completely new design..." The block is extremely different: longer "skirt" at the bottom, and the oil pan is flatter and shallower. Blocks look nothing like one another. Get one of each, put them side by side, and the differences jump out at you.
