LL3 Model Worx Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 Anyone know if any kits have these air cleaners?

There are a lot of the Johan “USA Oldies” 1962 Chrysler 300 kits around. They all had that air cleaner. What are you going to use it for? Steve

Steve Christine... sounds dumb I know, but I want it to be as screne accurate as possible.
stavanzer Posted November 2, 2022 Posted November 2, 2022 Not Dumb at all. There might be some in resin, but I have never looked for them, either. Good Luck. I'd look for "Junk Engine Lots" on eBay, and see if any turn up.

I would just ask in the “Wanted” section. Somebody probably has one and at the very least would probably be willing to cast one in resin for you. I have at least one of them, but I’m no good with resin casting. Let me check my stash to see if I have any extras. Steve

my66s55 Posted November 2, 2022 Posted November 2, 2022 I not only have the air cleaner, but the whole correct A block engine and trans. I created the 3d files for it in 2017. Over 20 of them in duel and single quad form are in the hands of members on this forum. The engine that comes in the AMT 58 Plymouth is screwed up. Mr Obsessive posted the fact on here and has 2 of them.

espo Posted November 2, 2022 Posted November 2, 2022 While admittedly not the same thing, when building this same kit and also wanting the dual quads I used the setup off of an AMT Chrysler 300 model. This gave me a dual quad manifold, carbs, and air cleaners. The bad news is that the offset style air cleaners that were OEM in the original application just does clear the hood. That said I think you could remove the connection between the carb mounting of the air cleaner and the air filter portion, then mount that on top of the carb. This would give you the same shape you're after but may not clear the hood when closed.

But if that doesn't work out that is certainly an option to consider. Just have to get the 300 kit.

I imagine that I could be convinced to let one go. Steve
