JPL-ACE Posted January 23, 2023 Posted January 23, 2023 Just saw this thread and it reminded me of a local car dealer with a VW bus body mounted on an old army tracked mule or weasel (I think that is the name). Looked really cool. Your 1:1 and model are also very cool. I cant get over how creative people are. Nice model work and paint too.

Steve H Posted January 31, 2023 Posted January 31, 2023 Hi Dave, a question if I may. How did you do the crack in the windshield? My guess is back edge of a #11 blade, maybe a small drill bit for the “impact” but not all the way thru? I have thought of trying this, but wasn’t sure how real it would look. Your technique looks absolutely perfect, nicely done. And that seat… Very nice details. I will watch for this under glass.

Steve, I first put a piece of painters tape on the glass then I used a very small drill in the center of where I wanted the star, but I didnt drill thru the glass. Then I used an exacto knife to cut the cracks by pulling the blade from the drill notch to the outside, then pull off the tape. You may want to try this on a piece of test glass. Dave 1
