Remember the issue this was in. Really hits my hot button. So cleanly done and understated I guess you could call it. Would love to have it my garage.

I totally agree, the interior is as gorgeous as the exterior!

Hey Mods, why don't you just pin this thread and make it kind'a permanent

Now that this thread has had 25,000 views in less than a year, I wonder if it would qualify being pinned? It's kind of a natural place to look for inspiration on new builds, or get information on hot rods of the past...

You have to be registered now to access the magazines though. I think it's free but haven't looked into it.

I guess my question was more for our moderators on this forum, and whether this thread you and I are conversing on could be pinned on the main forum so it would get more attention (and hopefully others' contributions). As for access to Hot Rod Magazine, it is still available free on https://www.motortrend.com/plus/magazines/ . The only "registration" needed is to log on via Google, Facebook, or Apple (or if you prefer, they still offer the option of putting in your email address and creating a password). One or two folks mentioned getting spam as a result of visiting this site, but I have had no such experience. Perhaps other folks could speak to this as well. In any event, thank you for your interest.

While I was checking the Motor Trend site, I noticed the September 2022 magazine just dropped (the site maintains a one year lag to promote paid subscriptions). In it was an interesting article about a custom Corvette from the 1960 Oakland Roadster Show called "Bali Hai" that recently reappeared. I love these oldies, and it seems to me this one is a natural for replication in scale.

On the two-part cover of HRM December 1979 were two really good looking cars I would enjoy building in scale.

In this issue, there was one article called "How to Build a Street Rod", and showed how the red '32 Ford was built. It was a particularly good article, with lots of photos and showcasing updated technology for that day.

A second article was called "How to Build a Street Machine", and again did a good job of showing how the '69 Camaro on the cover was built.

Greg Fleury '34 3-Window Coupe. To my eyes, it's kind of like the Vern Luce Coupe meets Alumacoupe

HRM December 1983

When I saw this car at World of Wheels in St. Paul back in 83-84 I fell in love with it. It was and will always be my dream rod.
