WorldOfCarModelsCraft Posted November 19, 2022 Posted November 19, 2022 Hello, can anyone advise me on how to fix the pillar. I think the model was crushed. One side of the roof is lower than the other.
LL3 Model Worx Posted November 19, 2022 Posted November 19, 2022 Cut two pieces of popsicle stick that length and sandwich the piller and clamp it... then flow some tamiya extra thin or equivalent in between the gap... leave it clamped until dry... then rescribe deeply and sand/ fill / scribe until straight. Here's some pics I made to kind of illustrate what I mean... Hopefully it will work out for you.

I bought it from private person. there is no receipt.I'll fix it, it won't be a problem, I just want to know your techniques guys :). Yes that's Revell.
Fat Brian Posted November 19, 2022 Posted November 19, 2022 Honestly that's pretty bad, I would try to find someone parting out the kit and buy another body. 1
LL3 Model Worx Posted November 20, 2022 Posted November 20, 2022 You could also clamp it and use heat... I will say though there's no way you come back from that without some sculpting/shaping...
StevenGuthmiller Posted November 20, 2022 Posted November 20, 2022 I’m with Brian. If it’s not a rare kit, it shouldn’t be to hard to source a new body. I wouldn’t waste my time on it. Steve
NOBLNG Posted November 20, 2022 Posted November 20, 2022 I’m a cheapskate! I would replace the vent window divider with some styrene stock. The A pillar I would try to gently straighten it with a small pair of needle nose pliers. If that failed, I would cut it out and carve a new one from evergreen stock. What have you got to lose? If you wreck it…then look for a replacement.?♂️

StevenGuthmiller Posted November 20, 2022 Posted November 20, 2022 If I didn't have to pay a small fortune to send it to Poland, I'd give it to you. I doubt that I'll ever build it. Steve
