JerseeJerry55 Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 Hello all. Question for the builders. How easy is it to put a 454 from the AMT 1970 Chevelle SS into the AMT/ERTL 1970 Z28 which has a 350? Do I need to play plastic surgeon. I think since the 1970 Baldwin Motion Camaro has a 454 is the engine bay pretty identical?
StevenGuthmiller Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 Mock up the main engine parts, (glue it together temporarily with a glue that will let you easily disassemble it) and then see how it fits. Some times you just gotta jump in. Steve
Plowboy Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 Yes. The engine bays are identical. You'll have no problem stuffing a big block in there.
Fat Brian Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 You can buy the 454 from the Baldwin Motion kit on ebay.
espo Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 Other than maybe a little reshaping of the motor mounts there shouldn't be any problems. The exhaust manifolds or headers may take a little tweaking just like on a 1:1 car.
