Tim08
Found this at my parents house on Thanksgiving day. They bought me the whole set back then. The set is long gone but this engine has been bouncing around the house for all those years. Shes pretty beat up, but brings back fond memories.
Ace-Garageguy
Looks like an Alco Century 430. I've bought a lot of old HO scale locos in worse shape over the past few years. Let me know if you want it to have a good home where it'll get restored.
1930fordpickup
My brother had that train set also. We used it for long hours in the winters.
Brian Austin
I recently got one of those for the power truck, to use in a project. The problem with these is they were not designed for servicing and repair. Each truck is riveted together. Only the front truck is powered. Motor is an open-frame type, driving each axle through a worm-and-gear set. Later Tyco drives had a completely new design utilizing a vertical pancake motor and spur gears. Hobbyists love to hate those for being unreliable. Edited December 4, 2022 by Brian Austin

Little Timmy
I got the exact same set for Christmas in 1976. Last time I saw it was 1982... don't know what I did with it...
BlackSheep214
Whoa.... very nice find! I, too used to play with those train set my youth years. My grandfather had a collection of them. Wished I still had them after my grandmother passed away in ‘95. My grandfather passed away in ‘80.
