martinfan5 Posted December 6, 2022 Posted December 6, 2022 (edited) Per Stevens, Round 2 is reissuing the 80's Ford Bronco kit. Edited December 6, 2022 by martinfan5
Jordan White Posted December 6, 2022 Posted December 6, 2022 Glad to see this coming out again too, some aspects aren't as good as the 1/24 Ex-Monogram kit, but this one does have the superior TTB setup with separate beams and radius arms! 1
Rob Hall Posted December 6, 2022 Posted December 6, 2022 Interesting....the most recent reissue was an '82 w/ the revised grille. Backdated to the '80 style?

Backdated to the '80 style? Good point, I didn't notice that! The most recent AMT version was actually labeled an '81 (though with the '82+ grille), so I wonder if they will give it the original grille or just leave it the newer one. 1 minute ago, martinfan5 said: Which one was the '82? I have that one and that was the one I was thinking of, forgot it was labeled as an AMT. I think I have the Ridge Runner and Saddle Trap versions also in my offsite storage. keyser Posted December 6, 2022 Posted December 6, 2022 So this is the MPC tool? What is the other one just reissued, the AMT? I have the Hobby Exclusive issue. Which came with the Cougar Funny kit? Sorry, had a 79 I towed race cars with, need one to do it, didn’t pay close attention I guess. Sorry for stupid questions, the 70’s-80’s was my hiatus.
Jordan White Posted December 6, 2022 Posted December 6, 2022 The one just reissued is the '78 Bronco from MPC, the same kit is the one that came with the Cougar and trailer, and was released by Model King. That one is the one you want for a 2nd gen Bronco build. The kit in this thread is of the third generation ('80-'86). 1

The AMT is a '78. Different generation than the MPC '80-82. The AMT '78 came w/ the Cougar Funny Car kit...the Hobby Exclusive kit was the MPC '82 (though the box art inexplicably said AMT and '81). 1

Like the last issue of the '82 Bronco, was boxed as an AMT and said '81. Edited December 6, 2022 by Rob Hall
keyser Posted December 6, 2022 Posted December 6, 2022 Thank god it confuses others too. I know my kit history pretty well, but the merger and reissues killed me. I’ll get the AMT 78. Have everything else but the equalizer hitch
gasman Posted December 6, 2022 Posted December 6, 2022 Decent kit, but the multi piece top is a PITA to put together, the one from the amt 78 bronco works with some minor modifications,

Plowboy Posted December 7, 2022 Posted December 7, 2022 I may snag one for parts to convert the later model AMT F-150.
keyser Posted December 7, 2022 Posted December 7, 2022 Wish Casey would return. Great database he keeps 5
stavanzer Posted December 7, 2022 Posted December 7, 2022 I hope the Roof Light Bar, and Double Roll Bar show up. Having all 3 intake options would be great, but Even the base kit appears to include the Turbo. I had the Dust Devil, back in the day. Like to have another one.
Plowboy Posted December 7, 2022 Posted December 7, 2022 Does it have the stock front bumper? I've only seen it with the double tube bumper.

stavanzer Posted December 7, 2022 Posted December 7, 2022 (edited) Note: That One Piece Spare/Rack is really flimsy! It bends/breaks easily. Edited January 5, 2023 by stavanzer
