OldTrucker Posted December 9, 2022 Posted December 9, 2022 Was glued together mostly unpainted. Had this kit when it first was released and it was one of my models stolen when we were moving in 1977. Got this one off ebay because it was mostly complete and what I can't save I will use parts from a gluebomb newer release. Interior almost done, like I originally did used the overhead console for the missing center one. Used two mirrors for the consol mounted speedometer and tach. Now how to do the steering wheel. 2
OldTrucker Posted December 12, 2022 Author Posted December 12, 2022 Working on the steering wheel. Tough nut to crack! 1
showrods Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 (edited) Keep on truckin'. I'm a big fan of restoring old kits. Looking forward to this one. Edited December 16, 2022 by showrods
OldTrucker Posted December 22, 2022 Author Posted December 22, 2022 Chassis done, need to shift 5he front axle bach about 1/16 inch. Did a little black wash on the wheels. Debated using the wheels from the newer kit but decided to build it as it came with the small wheels and tires. Trying to decide on just what gold to use. Used lime gold way back on one but it wan't quite right.
OldTrucker Posted December 24, 2022 Author Posted December 24, 2022 Decided to do some alteration to the taillight. I know it isn't quite correct but closer to what it should have been.
slusher Posted December 27, 2022 Posted December 27, 2022 Everything I have seen or watched you build has been great, sir!
OldTrucker Posted November 27, 2023 Author Posted November 27, 2023 More coming soon! Finally found the thread!
magicmustang Posted January 2, 2024 Posted January 2, 2024 (edited) Started on the one I've had in my stash for years. Added a front door interior panel and made a console. Glued the windshield frame and door in the body (never got them to work right on the first one I built). Made a steering wheel and corrected the taillight panel as you did. Any progress on yours? RancheroSteve Posted January 3, 2024 Posted January 3, 2024 Not sure if you were already aware, but the steering wheel on the Deora was a modified 60-something Oldsmobile unit. That wheel used to be available from the Modelhaus, but alas, no more.

Used red decals mounted above on the inner top of the chrome and they are reflected in the angled chrome below. Edited January 14, 2024 by magicmustang
OldTrucker Posted April 7, 2024 Author Posted April 7, 2024 Back on the Deora again. Going to get it done! 1
OldTrucker Posted April 10, 2024 Author Posted April 10, 2024 Got the decals from another member but appears when the new release was done the center of the tonneau cover was made narrower. I had the old woodgrain from the original kit and after scraping the dried up adhesive glued it on with craft glue. 2
