Zippi
What are you fellows using for exhaust pipes and mufflers. Show me what you have scratch built and what was it made out of.

Show me what you have scratch built and what was it made out of. I typically use solder and parts box mufflers though now that I have a 3D printer I'll start printing my own mufflers. In the first pic I used larger styrene tube for the mufflers with solder pipes. On the second one I used a section of the kit exhaust and added solder for the tailpipes. The rear suspension is IRS so the pipes could go under the axle for the centered exit. The third one was another hybrid using parts box pieces and solder for the tailpipes on another IRS. NOBLNG
I have used both 0.100” styrene rod and 3/32” o.d. tube with some soft wire inside. The wire keeps it from collapsing when bending and also helps keep the shape after bending. I have made my own mufflers and here is my thread on that process. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/162370-making-mufflers/#comment-2426201 The best thing about the mufflers is that the position of the pipes can be adjusted before being glued solid. And here are some pics of my scratch built systems. T-Bird Jeepster. These were just single 0.156” tube mufflers if I recall.
