89AKurt Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 Thought I got all the models that I wanted, but happened to find this Lamborghini Marzal. I got a Nakamura (extinct brand) Mercedes C-111 kit, it's really horrible and comes from the motorized era, so I'm wondering if this blows chunks too. It's a really odd show car, the seats are silvered leather, comes with baking sheets. ? I picked up an Airfix Maserati Boomerang a couple years ago, has a similar glass door design, and is an awful kit too, but it's so cool! Anyone have this kit, to confirm my suspicion?
jaymcminn Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 I've seen the parts breakdown and it might be worse than the Merc. 1
Bainford Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 I have long wondered about both this kit and the Merc C-111. I've not seen either one in person or built up. I'd love to build a C-111, but the choices seem dismal. The Marzal is a very cool subject, too. Maybe the 3-D guys will come to the rescue. I found an outfit (whose name I regretfully forget) doing nice looking 3-D kits in very limited runs, and producing many unkitted subjects that I've wanted to do for years, including a Lamborghini Espada, which is the marketable version of the Marzal. Unfortunately, I discovered the place after the kit run was over.
Exotics_Builder Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 I had that kit some years ago and was so disappointed in it that I sold it off.

Not as challenging as carving one from a block of pine, but not by much. 1 1

Yup, the Airfix Boomerang is indeed pretty bad, but it's not nearly as difficult to correct as the C111...though it's still no walk in the park. http://forum.autoinscale.com/viewtopic.php?id=7538
