junkyardjeff Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 For example I came up with a 60 Ford Starliner that is missing parts so would parts from the latest version work on the original 1960 version or is it totally different. I am missing the chassis, rear bumper and glass.
Mark Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 Chassis could certainly be adapted, rest is a gamble, with glass being the least likely to fit. Totally different kits, with measuring and design taking place forty years apart.
junkyardjeff Posted February 2, 2023 Author Posted February 2, 2023 I figured that is how it would be,I do have a chassis from the latest 58 Edsel I can see how it fits.
StevenGuthmiller Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 Sometimes you have to do some modifications to get things to fit correctly. That’s what we call “modeling”. Steve
junkyardjeff Posted February 2, 2023 Author Posted February 2, 2023 I will have to post some pics of the home made frame it has,it was made from the parts trees.
Rob Hall Posted February 3, 2023 Posted February 3, 2023 Reminds me, I have a builtup '60 Edsel convertible kit that has a '61 Impala interior and chassis...got it in a collection about 30 years ago in decent shape. 1
keyser Posted February 3, 2023 Posted February 3, 2023 Crude effort that has wheels in proper spots in wheel wells. Curbside OG style. 61 Galaxie notchback reissue really close, prob 64 craftsman too. Glass issue still.
1930fordpickup Posted February 4, 2023 Posted February 4, 2023 Jeff I will look through the stash and see if I have anything that will fit this. It will take a few days. I have I have to find the box they are in.
