I take it these engines only came in Corvettes since every picture I have googled has the logo on the cam covers? I picked up a Monogram’95 ZR-1 for the engine, but don’t know what to put it in yet. I want to dress it up slightly so I am going to wire it and paint the cam covers at least. I found this site that has some ideas.? If anyone has pics of one they built up please post a picture.

The LT-5 your showing is the first use of that designation (2nd in the current LT engines) and was specifically built for the ZR-1.

I did this some years ago, making a ZR-1500 pickup using the ZR-1 Vette Components.  I can take some more detailed photos if you wish.

Thanks for the pics Gerry. I was specifically wondering if the cam covers were ever available without the “Corvette” logo. I think I will file it off anyway and pretend they are aftermarket pieces, since the lettering is flawed on one of them.?

Monogram LT5 in their '65 Corvette:

Needed a fair bit of work as I recall. Managed to use the later radiator but mounted vertically.

And one from an AMT Corvette dropped into a '67 Impala:

An easy fit this time around.

Here's one I used in a pro street Nova back when these cars were new and that engine was very rare and exotic. ?

1991, can you tell?  ?

The 39 Wagon Rod version does NOT have the Corvette markings on it.  I went down to the stash and confirmed it.

One of the magazines had a build article on a “ZR-32” way back in the early ‘90s. It was an AMT 1932 Chevy roadster with the LT-5, rectangular headlights, and scratch built seats with cushioning made from half round styrene. It was painted purple. That’s about all I remember. It may have been a model of a real car, but I could be wrong about that.

I vaguely remember that issue. I want to say it was Car Modeler. It was on the cover, IIRC.
