Quick update. I will be posting shortly my first build (in other Racing...etc) with Quick Shine replacing Future. Works good on the body but adhesion on glass parts is not good so I'll keep what Future  I have left just for the glass parts going forward.

To UK modellers, Holloway House Quick Shine is stocked and available at Lakeland in shops and on line. A bit more expensive than the old Klear from Johnson's though at about £16 per carton. Make sure it is the green carton liquid you buy and and not their cleaner that they also sell.

There is a YouTube video demonstrating it being used on a model I think, maybe linked on this site somewhere.

Couple of years ago (when Future was still available) I used to see ads on TV for the "Holloway House Quick Shine", so I would assume it is also available for sale in USA.

I got it at Canadian Tire here in Canada but it is advertised by Walmart and Home Depot so easy to find. Just make sure you get the one with the green label (as posted on my pics)

I know this is an old thread, but did you experience any cracking in the Quickshine finish?  I know with Future it would sometimes crack if your applied it too soon over paint that hadn't gassed out yet.

So now that Future is now a thing... of the past....and that my stock is running low, I decided to try Quick Shine

Tried it on a discarded body that was painted a long time ago. I scuffed it with 4000-6000-8000 and brushed on the Quick Shine.

Brushes on even easier than Future. I'll check in a few days to see if becomes reasonably resistant.

Promising.

Pierre, Thanks for the information.  I bought a bottle of Quick Shine and am eager to see how it works.  I do have a question as to how you clean your brushes.  I used an airbrush to apply Future and cleaned it with Windex.  However, I think you wrote that Windex did not touch the Quick Shine, so I am a bit reluctant to run it through an airbrush at the moment.  I appreciate any information you can provide.

Sorry for late response RM, I have had the same issue with cracks in the finish with Future (even though the clear under was acrylic). Since adding a week's time for the clear to fully cure before polish & decals and then another 2 days before Future has solved that. Same process now with Quick Shine and no issues.

Jim, I suggest you try brushing it on, it is incredibly easy and leaves no brush marks. I clean the brush first with dishwasher soap and then clear water.

This is brushed on 2 days after I polished the clear coat underlay and applied decals.

For some reason I can't find floor polish in any stores here. not even an empty shelf space at any of the big name retailers,  I'll be hitting some of the smaller, local shops when I get the chance.
