Mothersworry Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 Lindberg Dodge kit built outta the box with aftermarket decals. As delivered the Super Stock cars were painted white with red interiors, Landy painted his car silver so I applied white "overspray" to the chassis first and then silver "overspray" to replicate Landy's repaint, the engine compartment was left white. 6
Rattlecan Dan Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 That is a Fantastic job! Great amount of realism and attention to detail. Beautiful work. Thanks for posting.
papajohn97 Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 Nice job on Landy’s “last stock wheelbase” drag car. I’m particularly impressed with the painting of the black raised wiring details within the engine bay, not an easy detail to paint.
M W Elky Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 I always look forward to seeing the fantastic paint detailing on all of your builds. Another one well done ?
johnny rocket Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 well done, im interested in how you did the tire screws on the rear wheels? are they molded into the rim or did you add them?

The "screws" on the rear wheels are "dots" of silver paint. To create the "screws" I use what I believe to be called a stylus, it is a sculpting tool used in working clay. They are available in various sizes at most craft stores. I dip the tool in sum paint and simply "dot" to create perfectly round screws or rivets. Takes sum practice to get the right touch but it's better than using a brush. Edited May 6, 2023 by Mothersworry
Zippi Posted May 8, 2023 Posted May 8, 2023 Very nice and clean looking build. Great detail work. Love the old Drag cars.
