i somehow lost the radiator. i know i had it because i remember painting it. the kit has a separate fan shroud so i might have to put it together without it if i cant find it.

this build is far from perfect, so im not going to worry much if i cant find it. besides, i dont think the hood stays shut right without glue so i might need to glue the hood anyway. i will have to see when i get to that point.

i chrome penned the corvette logo on the gas lid and the script in the back and it came out ok. there was one on the side that had no detail, so it looks like its just a silver bar. i should have left it, but i hoped it would have worked. anyway, i glued in the glass during my lunch break, and i should be able to finish this up tonight after work, if there is no issues. everything that needs glue has been glued and anything that needs paint has been painted and is dry or drying now.

i just need to put the engine in, the interior in, the engine compartment in and put it all together. if everything fits ok, i probably have like 20 minutes left

i will take pics as soon as it is finished.

The car is finished. The rear bumpers are not going in straight and I broke one. I glued it back together and you can't really tell too much unless you look closely. The fan shroud is also not fitting with the chassis right so I'm glueing the hood down since it looks silly. This is definitely not my best work but it's the first model I finished in a couple of years. I been working on others but haven't finished. I was hoping it would have been an easy final assembly but really it was the opposite.

I'm glad I finally built the kit though. It really was a ton of fun, in spite of the issues

That's what super glue's for!?

i actually asked my wife to look for super glue, but she thought i was joking.

its starting to heal now, but man it is really deeply cut. it still hurts. so stupid for cutting towards my hand instead of away. i guess i need a gentle reminder every once and a while

It's been a long time since I cut myself badly, while modeling. In the 1:1 world, sheet metal and I are bitter rivals. Sheet metal has won several battles. I couldn't tell you how many stitches I've gotten, because of sheet metal! Fortunately, I haven't whacked myself with the flashing I use in modeling. Super glue works well for sealing cuts, though.
