Daryl Romain Posted July 2, 2023 Posted July 2, 2023 (edited) One of my holy grail kits was a gift from model buddy L Leslie Curtis. JoHan nascar body and he was nice enough to provide a fresh 69 Torino donor kit. Neither one of us realized the original builder had done a fastback to notchback conversion, which I had to redo. The rear window opening wasn't vertical enough. Made a hood and scoop, replaced an A pillar, grafted in a 79 El Camino rear bumper and made a rear lower valance from a 1/24th scale Iroc bumper. I think the El Camino bumper is upside down, on purpose, can't remember. Amt 69 Torino windshield, interior, motor and chassis, with a few tweaks. The blue wire sticking up became the fuel line. espo Posted July 2, 2023 Posted July 2, 2023 This had to be a difficult body conversion. Paint looks great and the hood looks like Fords hood as well.
Daryl Romain Posted July 2, 2023 Author Posted July 2, 2023 (edited) It wasn't hard. It had already been converted although incorrectly. The roof was already cut. When the paint was stripped, I recut along the now visible cut lines, put stuff back where I thought it should go. Exaggerated the height on the scoop just a tad, just because, lol. It represents a mildly customized, not dead stock body, car. Didn't have the parts to build it 100% stock. Edited July 2, 2023 by Daryl Romain 1
