bluestringer Posted July 21, 2023 Posted July 21, 2023 Did not like this kit. Nothing seemed to fit right. But I knew it was an old kit when I started, didn't expect much. Did the best i could with it. Paint is Tamiya X-4, interior is a combination of X-4 and semi-gloss black. Thanks for looking, all comments welcome. 7
espo Posted July 21, 2023 Posted July 21, 2023 Great looking paint finish and body trim. Like the wheels and tires along with all the chrome suspension hanging down. The engine looks the part, more drag than street, but looks good this way.
karbuildr Posted July 21, 2023 Posted July 21, 2023 This is not an easy kit to build and yours looks great. Looks like a mean machine ready to take on all challengers.
Flatout Posted July 21, 2023 Posted July 21, 2023 (edited) Hey James…this is a notoriously tough kit to build. The tool is really wore out, some of the panel lines and trim lines don’t exist any more and some of the body panels are pretty warped. Yours turned out pretty cool, that blue is really nice, can’t help but wonder what it would look like with a bright white in a typical 55 Chevy two tone paint job. Also, the white showing through the holes in the wheels kinda of washes out the details of the wheels…I think if you painted the surface behind the wheels a dark color it would really make the wheels “Pop”. Not criticizing, Just an old guy’s 2 cents worth. Looking forward to seeing your next build? Edited July 21, 2023 by Flatout
Zippi Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 Turned out pretty nice James. Your right, this is an old kit and the tools are worn out.

The wheel backs I painted a metallic silver, but the camera flash washed them out, looks a little better in person, but I think they would have stood out better painted black. 3 hours ago, Zippi said: Turned out pretty nice James. TransAmMike Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 Final look is great James. One day I'll re-unbox mine and get back to working on it. Yours is cool?
happy grumpy Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 Great job on a difficult kit. Turned out great.
Kenmojr Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 Very nice... Is this a re-issue of the old 1/24 Monogram kit? If so I built this model in the mid 1960s.
