eran_k Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 So i started working on the MPC 72 Chevy "Racersa Wedge", kit is quite basic but ok. engine is quite nicely detailed. had a badly warped hood, so i tried to fix it with some heat and clamping to a straight surface, which helped a little. main body and the ramp are primed with surfacer 1200, still debating on a color. I'm thinking either metallic lime green or yellow. chassis is painted and other small bits and pieces are in the process. 2
eran_k Posted August 5, 2023 Author Posted August 5, 2023 Green was selected, the cab interior is painted in a non metallic green i found in my paints, seats and other details will be hand painted in different colors. 1
eran_k Posted August 7, 2023 Author Posted August 7, 2023 engine done and attached in place, interior tub also done. next will be clearing the body, assembly, decals and some more detail painting. the grill on this model is quite bad i know it will give me griefs... 2
atomicholiday Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 This is looking good. I like the interior. 1
1930fordpickup Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 I agree with the other's, great work so far. 1
espo Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 Like the added color detailing on the bucket seats. This makes the interior look more interesting than all one color.
eran_k Posted August 9, 2023 Author Posted August 9, 2023 (edited) Moving on, cleared (although clear coat was never my best skill), glass and interior tub assembled, grill assembled - turned out better the i excepted. cab and ramp mocked up on frame, no major issues so far, i think i need to raise the ramp a bit to line up with the cab Edited August 9, 2023 by eran_k 2
Modelbuilder Mark Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 (edited) Turned out nice, I like that color Edited August 9, 2023 by Modelbuilder Mark 1
eran_k Posted August 10, 2023 Author Posted August 10, 2023 Added some black wash to the grill, detailed painted and decals applied (still need to to the other side of the ramp) Also aligned the ramp better by adding some plastic strips on the frame, i think it came out pretty good 2
eran_k Posted August 11, 2023 Author Posted August 11, 2023 it's basically done, i'll add some accessories once i finish the car that will be on the ramp (will open a thread in the cars wip) 3
