Anyone ever used automotivetouchup.com paint? Specifically their aerosol cans?

Haven’t used them, but I was going to in the past. They’re legit, but I couldn’t tell u how hot the paint is.

I have used them and they are hot. I’m not an expert, nor the best painter, but I would say colours are legit, and the aerosols spray quite nicely. My current, albeit slow moving Caddy build will be using their Vedoro green. I have used their GM hugger orange, and Vedoro green.

Good to hear…I’m having trouble finding Pontiac Heritage brown and they have it. I’m sure someone else makes it for us modelers but this a 1/8 scale and I think this would be the most economical paint that I’ve found. Thanks!!

I have used their paint a few times and it sprays excellent, I can spray a decently heavy coat before it even thinks of running, and the nozzle is very nice. I have used a white base coat underneath to help it pop a bit more.

You may try going to a local automotive paint store and have them mix acrylic enamel (not hot) and put it in a aerosol can. I have bought the large cans for about $25

Looks like "Camel" would be the closest.

 

 

I understand that you're looking for a spray can, but Scale Finishes does have 1979 Pontiac "Camel" if you have an airbrush.

It's code 69 "dark brown poly", Steve. All the colors look darker then they should on this chart.

Okay.

I saw the "Dark Brown" on another page, but it looked way to dark, so I assumed it was not the correct color that the OP was looking for.

In any case, Scale Finishes carries that Dark Brown Poly as well.

Scale finishes is 12.99 for 2 ounces. I think that would be an expensive paint for an eighth scale build.

I figured it was under another name on some charts so I checked for the color code on "Tran-Zam.com" and cross referenced the color code with the chart at Auto Color Library.

I found a local place that does spray cans , so I’ll check into that tomorrow.

So I checked with my local paint store. They can do the paint for 75 bucks a pint and then 36 bucks to put it all into cans. I really don’t want to pay that much but I may have to.

Right, and if you still want to do scale finishes paint I have a 15% coupon code I could PM your way. That way you could get 3 bottles 6 ozs of paint, and save some dough. I say 6 oz cause that’s a lot of paint, but I’m not familiar with 1/8 scale so probably need 4-5 bottles 8-10 ozs.

Shouldn't need that much.

I can pretty easily paint a 1/25th scale body with an ounce or less.

I would think that 3 bottles should do it.

But regardless, it certainly won't take 8, which is what you'd need to spend $110.00.
