As seen in the Mock thread...this is the goal. I picked this one up from Ebay. The box said it's an AMT Prestige '69, the instructions say it's a '68. The box contained almost 2 complete kits plus a '98 Corvette. When it arrived, the postal box was damaged and some parts escaped. I let the seller know and she refunded everything but the shipping.

the first thing is to liberate the door cards. This allow me to detail them easier.

Stay tuned...

I like the subject and the kit. I have one that stalled out a couple of years ago and would like to get back to it someday. I'll enjoy watching what you have in mind on this.

I just saw a show of Full Custom Garage where Ian grafted a Camaro finned grille to a Corvair, it also had Camaro tail lights on it.

I saw that show too like the day before I started working on it. He definitely is an inspiration.

Rubbed on some BMF before painting her then revealed the emblems after the paint cured. I used Duplicolor Chevrolet Red then lacquer thinner over the emblems with these...

They are about 4 inches long with a cotton tip. Perfect for this task.

finished up the interior by making brake, clutch and accelerator pedals. I mounted them using stick pins under the dash.

Where did you find those swabs? Did you run out of these?

I've never seen those but I'm interested.

This is what I use from The Amazon...

OK, Steve....these swabs I pictured are available at Hobby Lobby and they come in 3 sizes. They are very firm but absorbent and I grab some on every trip to HL. I love them. I use them for pressing foil into place, removing blackout paint from chrome, picking up glue goofs, and a number of other things I'm sure I have forgotten?. I think you'll  find them on many on-line hobby sites. I think they are branded Tamiya but there may be a generic.  Off hand I can't be sure.

Find them on ebay but shop around ( or go to Hobby Lobby, you know you want to ?.) You may want to try all the sizes for different tasks. Your cosmetic swabs are much cheaper but the Tamiya swabs are really good for certain operations.

This "unsafe at any speed" street machine is pretty freaking awesome sitting still. I looked at the ones that come up on a bing search. You definitely have the look nailed, Steve.
