I found this at hobby lobby today, I didn’t know it had been re-released, I wish they would re-pop the 1957 corvette  fuelie and the street machine. But I’m gonna give this kit a try, I haven’t opened it yet so this is written before I have any idea of what’s inside ?. So without further ado… let’s get into this

Okay so first thing I noticed is if you happen to have a revell 58 do NOT have it in the same room as this 60 lol, let alone compare them side by side, it’s like comparing filet mignon to potted meat. I see the headlights are a bit small and the mold lines are horrible, the body is ok to reshape properly but the front is molded very flat instead of round, so that’s gonna take some work. Thats all the insults I will hurl at this kit… for now. ?

Yup, those stupid-tiny headlights appear in several old-tool 4-eyed AMT Corvette kits, but oddly not all of 'em.

I did a front clip (old AMT '59 Corvette) swap on to the squinty-eyed Sock-it-to-Me version some time back...

Yes, I am just surprised at how small the front headlights are, and just comparing it to the more modern 58 it’s amazing how far engineering has come

I would love to see the 57 street machine reposed!!

Being an owner of a real 1960 Corvette since 1983, I too have come across those AMT models and was very disappointed in the tiny headlights. The recent AMT kits were originally MPC and much better. I have the remains of an early AMT kit my kid brother built when he was 14 or 15. He is now 65.

I will be following this thread as I have 3 MPC 1960 kits to build, including the flip nose, my brother's AMT model and 4 of those multi piece Revell kits I purchased at Radio Shack in the early 1980s.

I recently built an older issue of this kit.  Despite the flaws, yours seems to be molded a bit cleaner than mine was. It was eye opening to see the difference between these old kits and the more modern offerings.

Yes, this kit is one of the oldest tools that is still in production, originally part of the SMP line of annual kits and one of the first to have an opening hood and an engine.  Based off of the SMP 1958 promo model tooling.  Over the years its contents have changed, and it's been packaged as both a '59 and a '60.
