Mittagskind Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 This project is also finished, with one laughing eye and one crying eye. Some works turned out well, others not so well. At first the kit seemed to be of very good quality. Many parts fit perfectly and were well detailed. The plastic was relatively soft and easy to work with, but also very sensitive to breakage. The top edge of my windshield broke while polishing. The glass of the windshield with the molded wipers and the dashboard were one continuous piece and did not fit at all. I decided to cut off the disc completely and use other discs. I used silver imitation gold leaf for the chrome areas of the rear fenders. This ultra-thin aluminum foil is easy to place on the curves, but is difficult to process overall because it is so thin and light. Breathe out too hard once and everything flies away, and if the film is stuck somewhere, it's difficult to remove. The biggest shock came last. Suddenly there was a big drop of glue on the left front fender. I have no idea how it got there. This must have happened when the chrome strips were glued on. Luckily the glue didn't attack the paint. After drying it had to be sanded carefully. So check it out and tell me what you think. 6
Justin Porter Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 A very tidy build of an intensely pretty car.
happy grumpy Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 Heller kits can be challenging, the newer ones are more to today's standards but the older ones... Your build turned out great, I like the box art approach.
SpikeSchumacher Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 Beautiful build of a not too often seen type Hanjo!
kjohan Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 Beautiful build of a beautiful car. which is a bit under the radar of classics
karbuildr Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 Very well done. I like the color and your details are excellent.
Yeah Nah Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 Admire any builder who sticks with and finishes a difficult model. In the end you've given us a rare beauty to look at!
Bainford Posted September 15, 2023 Posted September 15, 2023 Great job on a challenging kit. It really is a fine looking car. Very well done.
XYHARRY Posted September 15, 2023 Posted September 15, 2023 Top up or top down, either way it looks great. It actually looks much nicer built than the box art let's on. Well done Hanjo. Cheers, David. ??
1959scudetto Posted September 15, 2023 Posted September 15, 2023 This is a very nice model of a seldom seen built kit, Hanjo - certainly not the easiest kit (built also some Heller kits in the past)

ismaelg Posted February 5, 2024 Posted February 5, 2024 Hello, It turned out beautiful! I just started this kit. I hope mine comes out half as good as yours. Thanks, Ismael
Andrew McD Posted February 5, 2024 Posted February 5, 2024 Nicely done! I built this a few years back when I first started building models as an adult. In some respects it is a bit fussy and difficult but builds up to, in my opinion, a very nice looking model. Yours turned out much nicer than mine which currently languishes in the back lot awaiting repairs or perhaps transformation into a hot rod. I am seriously considering a second box stock build as well now that my construction skills have improved enough to hopefully do the subject justice.

It's an amazing car and the kit is worth building again.
