kelson Posted October 31, 2023 Posted October 31, 2023 Hey everybody a new build i started awhile ago,but is a slow WIP,building a replica of my 1:1 car using a transkit i've had for awhile.I have an Original transkit from All American Models, but i misplaced it in my stash?.but i've got a few knockoffs in my stash so i'm using one of them. Many hours sanding to get the body ready for primer, added styrene strips for weather stripping since none was on the body The factory color for my car,had this can at least 25 years and yes,it still is good! 4
kelson Posted October 31, 2023 Author Posted October 31, 2023 Also have most of the engine and parts partially finished 3
kelson Posted October 31, 2023 Author Posted October 31, 2023 I also cut out the plastic out of the wheels for a cleaner look,i'm attempting to cast them in clear resin, but so far i've had no success.? 2
Keef Posted October 31, 2023 Posted October 31, 2023 I’m liking this so far! Nice color and opening up the wheels looks a lot better

slusher Posted November 2, 2023 Posted November 2, 2023 Looks great out the starting gate, beautiful paint and opening your wheel will make your build look so much better Curtis! 1
atomicholiday Posted November 2, 2023 Posted November 2, 2023 Great start so far. Paint job looks awesome. I REALLY like your 1:1! Sweet ride. 1
TransAmMike Posted November 2, 2023 Posted November 2, 2023 Super nice looking Camaro, your 1:1 and the model. Love the color. 1
kelson Posted December 12, 2023 Author Posted December 12, 2023 Hey,back with alot of updates:body is cleared and the trim is painted i used decals from Rays kits decals for the side emblems. 3
kelson Posted December 12, 2023 Author Posted December 12, 2023 (edited) Engine is finished as good as i can do,but wasn't correct in some areas i had to swap the places Alternator and Air conditioning unit, i also swapped out some parts for better parts in my parts box,the top gray pieces are the Amt parts. Also the kit does have a fan,so grabbed one from the parts box. kelson Posted December 12, 2023 Author Posted December 12, 2023 Lastly the interior, which seems more correct for a 85-87' Iroc, it had ribbing on the rear seat and doors and dashboard. So i separated the doors so i could get in to sand it off,i resin casted the armrests from the Revell'82'Ultra Z camaro and used the parking brake as well from the camaro, still lots more to go though. 3
kelson Posted December 22, 2023 Author Posted December 22, 2023 Alright back with a small update, windshield was painted with Tamiya matt black and a light couple coats of Tamiya clear blue and a little novus 2 to get rid of some small scratches. Since i failed trying to cast the wheels in resin,i just scribed the plastic out on the other two wheels.Repainted them with Spaztix chrome as i couldn't find a color to match my wheels i added P/E wheel weights and valve stems and the centre cap is a decal from Rays kits. 3
kelson Posted January 6, 2024 Author Posted January 6, 2024 Thanks for the positive comments everyone!....okay so the interior is done i just need to glue the seatbelts to the body/backseat. The chassis is done and so is the engine wheels and tires. Lastly i cast the headlights in resin and painted the backs in Vallejo silver, not sure i'm 100% satisfied with them and may do another. 1
kelson Posted January 12, 2024 Author Posted January 12, 2024 Another update, headlights installed and i cast the taillights in clear resin and painted them with Tamiya clear red and orange and testor's gloss black. 1
Maindrian Pace Posted January 14, 2024 Posted January 14, 2024 Very nice detailing on this car, I don't think I've ever seen one built. Haven't seen one of the real cars in a decade or more. 1

All American Models made the trans kit in the early nineties and i've only seen one build up on facebook a couple years ago, guess he never sold many.i think most of the real 1:1 cars are in the scrapyard now.? 1 hour ago, espo said: Very realistic looking finishes. Thanks!,i thought i'd try to add a little weathering instead of a perfect showroom look.

How hard is this kit to find? I also had a 1:1 92 Camaro and would like to build a replica of it, but have never seen this kit 1
