I am working on a 66 Chevelle kit, and I have searched and searched, and I guess I’m not as schooled as a lot of y’all are, I am looking for the flag decals on the front fenders of Chevrolet cars, 1/24, 1/25 scale. Maybe I don’t actually know what they’re called, but for the life of me, I can’t find ‘em. I’m also looking for the Super Sport decals for the rear fenders, but I think I may have that covered. I’m to old and shaky to try to paint em myself so that’s why I’m looking for decals. Could someone maybe please help and point me to something?

Which issue of the kit do you have?  The early (Lindberg) issues probably don't have them, but the newest Round 2 (AMT) issue might.  I'm not aware of any being sold separately.

The Model Car Garage has them on their photoetch detail set along with a bunch of other useful stuff.

That's the route that I would go.

Never liked the one dimensional look of decals anyway.

Depending on the body color, they virtually disappear.

This may depend on what engine you want to represent in your '66 Chevelle build. The flags and the 396 or even the 427-engine displacement can be found in many of the other '60's era model kits. For the small block applications, they used a combination or a V emblem with a red, white and blue banner above for the basic small block and added a checkered flag emblem for the 327 engines.

I used bits of one MCC's 70 Chevelle photo etch frets on 4 models so far.

70 Chevelle SS 396

72 Chevelle SS 454

70 El Camino SS ProStreet

and the power window switches in my 65 Grand Prix.

Future floor polish works great for attaching them.

I actually found a decal sheet on eBay for a 1966 Chevrolet Impala that has what I’m looking for. A little pricey, but we do what we gotta do. Thanks to all the help I got from y’all. I actually stumbled upon it as I was looking at the kit on YouTube. Like I always say, even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile.
