Mittagskind Posted February 20, 2024 Posted February 20, 2024 After a completely unsuccessful attempt... ...it finally turned out to be satisfactory. The paint is a mix of different acrylic paints with some blue ink, applied with an airbrush, three coats of clear varnish from a spray can from the hardware store and finally polished with Tamiya compound and Meguiar's TechWax. Unfortunately the decals on the hood have some wrinkles. The first coat of paint was probably a little too thick. 8
Yeah Nah Posted February 20, 2024 Posted February 20, 2024 (edited) Just gorgeous! Produced a superb Cobra after the initial no start. Edited February 20, 2024 by Yeah Nah
Dragonhawk1066 Posted February 20, 2024 Posted February 20, 2024 Very very nice! Can't go wrong with the classic blue with white stripes on a Cobra. I have this kit to do as well, but I'm waiting until I have a place to display it before I build it, lol.
Safire6 Posted February 21, 2024 Posted February 21, 2024 Very Nice! That's a beautiful blue color! I like all the little details.
happy grumpy Posted February 21, 2024 Posted February 21, 2024 Turned out super well Hanjo. That deep blue sure fits well with the white stripes.
Chinacar Posted February 21, 2024 Posted February 21, 2024 Lovely build. The blackout of chrome gives it a modern feel, I really like.
XYHARRY Posted February 21, 2024 Posted February 21, 2024 Fantastic, all it needs now are some numbers and a race track. ? Well done Hanjo. Cheers, David. ??

Yes I didn't like the chrome parts, these look cheap and unrealistic. Because I din't had a good chrome paint, I chose this black flat. Edited February 21, 2024 by Mittagskind

Mattilacken Posted March 14, 2024 Posted March 14, 2024 Came out great! Looks very real and with the limited amount of aftermarket parts (exept now when printing is availble) it for sure looks the part! Need to get my hands on one of these in the future. 1
