After a completely unsuccessful attempt...

20240202_173430.thumb.jpg.855ea88a1597af2dd811c6bdc5d2db4c.jpg

...it finally turned out to be satisfactory.

The paint is a mix of different acrylic paints with some blue ink, applied with an airbrush, three coats of clear varnish from a spray can from the hardware store and finally polished with Tamiya compound and Meguiar's TechWax.

Unfortunately the decals on the hood have some wrinkles. The first coat of paint was probably a little too thick.

Very very nice! Can't go wrong with the classic blue with white stripes on a Cobra. I have this kit to do as well, but I'm waiting until I have a place to display it before I build it, lol.

Thank you Craig. Building this kit is really fun, only the decals are very sensitive.

Turned out super well Hanjo. That deep blue sure fits well with the white stripes.

Thank you Steve and Mario.

Lovely build. The blackout of chrome gives it a modern feel, I really like.

Many thanks Alex. Yes I didn't like the chrome parts, these look cheap and unrealistic. Because I din't had a good chrome paint, I chose this black flat.

Fantastic, all it needs now are some numbers and a race track. ? Well done Hanjo.

Cheers,

David. ??

Thank you, David. Numbers are parts of the kit, but I wanted it naked.?

Came out great! Looks very real and with the limited amount of aftermarket parts (exept now when printing is availble) it for sure looks the part!

Need to get my hands on one of these in the future.

  • Thanks 1
