Curvette1 Posted April 12, 2024 Posted April 12, 2024 (edited) I’ve modified several of these cartoon vettes into other versions of real cars. This is the stock version, just a snap model with the front end approximately 1/32 scale and it transforms to 1/25 scale at the rear. The first one I made into a Motion Performance Phase 3. I grafted on the phase 3 hood and put a chrome blower on,added tail lights and Motion decals and paint scheme. The next one is a Mako Shark 2 made from a 1/32 Aurora and MPC 1/25 Mako kits. I grafted them together and used centers from 1/16 and 1/32 knockoff wheels. The last one is a replica of an L88 A Production race car. I converted it from a coupe to convertible with hardtop, flared the fenders, added L88 hood and painted it and used decals from the 1/25monogram version of the model. XYHARRY Posted April 12, 2024 Posted April 12, 2024 Cool Corvette trio, I like your re-thinking on these. Well done Scott and welcome to the forum. Cheers, David. ??

Yes Marty the Mako Shark is my favorite too and I wish I hadn’t sold it. I ran out of room and decided to sell some models on ebay and put it on there at a price that I thought no one would pay. Of course someone bought it. I still have my original MPC Mako Shark that I built 30 years ago but the cartoon version I built exaggerates the style perfectly.
Camaro lover Posted April 12, 2024 Posted April 12, 2024 Very creative and well executed. I think the L88 is my favorite but they all are exceptional.
karbuildr Posted April 12, 2024 Posted April 12, 2024 Outstanding. Very cool stuff, a unique example of our hobby, very well done.
ybsluos Posted April 12, 2024 Posted April 12, 2024 Scott fantastic work on all but the Mako gets my vote for favorite too!
