Maurice Henderson Posted April 15, 2024 Posted April 15, 2024 Good Afternoon everyone Just finished these two models a couple of days ago..1st up is the Billy the Kid car..I used the MPC 76 Dart kit for the build..Slixx Decals, Slixx's aftermarket rims, hood scoop from parts box..I scatched built the roll cage..The decals gave me fits, but over all I'm ok with it except for my slicks stick out to wide..Measured three times and STILL got it wrong, but I wasn't taking it apart. I wired the engine for my second engine ever.. Comment & enjoy The Landy Dart has STS Decals..I added to the roll bar Again the decals gave me fits..I would let them sit and they would be in a different place..I had to seal the slicks from the 55 Chevy Bel Air Gasser. Wired the engine, but forgot the coil..Will do fix it later. I'm not really happy with it because it sets higher on the right side than the left..Took it apart, roll cage isn't touching the roof..I just wanted it done.. Comment & enjoy 16
Volzfan59 Posted April 15, 2024 Posted April 15, 2024 Those cars look great, well done. My favorite era in drag racing. 1
Altered Ego Posted April 16, 2024 Posted April 16, 2024 Fantastic job! I really like the rear tire fit on the Billy The Kid car
Zippi Posted April 16, 2024 Posted April 16, 2024 Both builds look bodacious. Old school drag cars are so kewl. Nicely done.
Hmann68 Posted April 18, 2024 Posted April 18, 2024 Great looking pair! Two of the coolest paint schemes there was. Nice work!

M W Elky Posted April 19, 2024 Posted April 19, 2024 Those are a couple of really nice Darts you’ve got there
Tedly Posted April 20, 2024 Posted April 20, 2024 They look great to me, you're too hard on yourself, well I guess we all are because we know where our mistakes are! Nothing ever comes out perfect for me either, the important part is we are enjoying our hobby.

Sir, thank you for the kind words..Sometimes I think that I'm not a very good modeler so I opened myself up to this forum to hear what the community has to say..For the most part, guys have been very helpful including yourself..I have never shown any of my builds, but this community is do welcoming that y'all have made it easy for me..I have probably 100 builds on my shelf..I might put some of my earlier builds on the channel. 1
Mopar2 Posted April 25, 2024 Posted April 25, 2024 You did such an excellent job building both of them
Hemifever Posted April 26, 2024 Posted April 26, 2024 Love those A body Mopars, nice job on both builds.
MADmodelDOCTOR Posted April 28, 2024 Posted April 28, 2024 Nice builds. I like Billy the Kid car. I stood next to it back in the day. Beautifull . Needs aluminum wheels. Nice job..
dragcarz Posted June 21, 2024 Posted June 21, 2024 Great looking builds Maurice! How’s your thumb coming along, and did you finish your California Flash Duster?

Thank you sir for asking about my thumb..It's still numb..The Duster has been giving me fits..I need to put the engine together and install the rest of the decals. Chassis and interior are done..
TarheelRick Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 A couple of really nice-looking builds. To me that era of drag-racing was what drag-racing was all about. Build it, haul it to the track, and run it to the floor all the way through the lights. Real drag cars do not need brake lights.
