Rockford Posted April 22, 2024 Posted April 22, 2024 This is a cross between the Monogram (cab) and AMT (chassis) 1/32 snap kits. I've wanted a single sleeper K100 in 1/32 for a long time so had to butcher an Aerodyne and shorten the chassis to suit. See my WIP on the De-Aerodyned K100 for the gory details. Proportions are just right to me. Perfect US cab over. Who needs 1/25 when you can spend 15 months making a snapper look passable? 14
Doug 1061 Posted April 23, 2024 Posted April 23, 2024 Beautiful work. I have looked at 1/32 truck kits but the 1/25 parts seem to get smaller every year....... Very nice photography also. 1
Rockford Posted April 23, 2024 Author Posted April 23, 2024 I know what you mean Doug. I spend half of my time crawling around the floor looking for stuff I've dropped.
cifenet Posted April 28, 2024 Posted April 28, 2024 Sweet looking setup, Steve! This is something to be proud of, it came out excellent! I really like the trailer combo look too. 1 1
Rockford Posted April 28, 2024 Author Posted April 28, 2024 Thanks mate. I must admit I do get a buzz from it. Classic K100 look about it, just what I intended. 1
Noah H. Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 That's a beautiful truck, the detail and quality of that build makes it appear like it is in 1/25 rather than 1/32. Great work. 1
leafsprings Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 100% improvement over the box stock, excellent work and very accurate modifications, paint job looks perfect! 1
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted May 13, 2024 Posted May 13, 2024 You really have a magic touch on these! Another excellent build! 1 1
Blue Monday Posted November 25, 2024 Posted November 25, 2024 That looks stunning but boy does it look like it was a LOT of work. Was it your most challenging build to-date or have you put even greater effort into another build? The second trailer of the three looks just right behind this K100 (IMHO). BM. 2 1
Rockford Posted November 26, 2024 Author Posted November 26, 2024 Thanks for the kind words. My work pales into insignificance alongside some of the jobs I see on here. It was a challenge but I think either of my two W900s were harder. The Aerodyne because I decided to open the hood and build a Cummins and then Sonny Pruitt's truck because it was such an important truck to me. 4
Jürgen M. Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 Looks perfect Steve! A classic American truck. The cab reduction looks just great. Even when you know it was shortened and "de-aerodyned" you can't see it. Very precise and clean job! 1 1
BK9300 Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 You really do make all your builds way better than what the kits offers up out of the box - excellent work! 1 1
Pete68 Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 Sorry I missed this one Steve another great build in 1/32 scale and transforming it to a more convincing look. 2 1
RoninUtah Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 Now that's a beautifully clean build, I'd say the patient survived quite well! 1 1
