Thanks guys, now I'm working on the windshield and I have to use the one from the Orange Crate kit, but it "needs work"

Cheers!

Yowzers that’s a lot of flash.

I opened up the cowl vent and did the best I could with that windshield frame!

I de-chromed it and sanded and filed it, painted it body color (Tamiya TS-11), then glued thin clear plastic and attached it only at the top, leaving it open at the bottom.

No A/C so we need all the fresh air we can get into that chopped sedan!

Filling in some blanks on this update. Chassis is complete, engine is almost ready to mate to chassis. I’ve sourced a radiator that will work with the hemi and hopefully provide enough cooling.

I mocked up my 32 Tudor this afternoon. I will be using the headers, valve covers and air cleaner from the Revell 37 Ford Street Rod kit. I cut down the 40 Ford dash from the Revell 32 5 Window Ford kit to fit the Tudors interior.Gonna use the new tool Revell 32 Roadster firewall. I still need to decide on what color I’m going to paint it and and get the exhaust figured out.Hopefully more progress soon?

Took some pics of the modified body with a stock body to show the difference between the two. And there is still more to do but mainly up front with the hood and hood sides.

The hood sides are going to take some work to make fit. Didn't take many pics of this while it was being done. Just in my zone, I guess. The hood sides were cut in half, the bottom body line removed and replaced with .060 half round. The hood also had the belt line removed and a piece of .060 half round replaced that. Still more to do too the lower body line to get it to flow together where the bottom of the body and hood side meet.

Decided to add a little to the tail end of the body. @Kit Karson helped me out with this by sending me a spare body to hack up. Thank you, Brother! The back lower section was cut off the donor body. Figured out what was needed, modified the parts to fit and they were glued in place. It's going to take some sanding to get things to look right at this point along with some 1/2 round to join the lower body line.

Still have no idea on anything else for this build like engine, suspension, interior. It will come in time.

Up front, I've already separated the shocks from their frame mounts, de-chromed them, "welded" the mounts to the frame and painted them, then made the shocks and installed them.

For the rad, I filled a hole and the bottom portion with scraps, painted it flat black, then cut a piece of photo-etched rad material and painted it semi-gloss black.

I made a vintage '32 plate and mounted it behind the photo-etched stock grill, I always do that on my '32s for some reason, I just like it for old school hot rods.

I made headlight brackets and mounted them where I wanted them to be, turned out pretty good, it was iffy!

It never ceases to amaze me the skill and work that all of you are putting into these builds. I definitely see some things that i am going to use in future builds. I can't wait to see them all completed

Finally getting to the interior, I’ve kinda had it planned out but hadn’t had any time to really get much done on it.
I’m using the door cards from the Amt phantom Vickie, they need some trimming to fit the wheel arches. For the floor pan I’m using the Dan Fink speed wagon piece with the buckets from the new tool roadster. And the 32 dash from the og sedan kit. Still undecided on steering wheel and shifter. I’ll have to pull from the archives and see what looks good in there. And lastly I have to adjust a set of collector pipes for the headers as the ones from the new tool roadster do not mate up with the headers.
My youngest son is here visiting so I’m plucking away at this build in the downtime aka during his teenage slumber! He has shown some interest in modelling so he has started on an engine. Maybe he will take up the mantle and continue on his own!

With massive thanks to NerdmanB i now have a body to get started on. Since I'm in europe mine is going to be RHD but our tudors used similar shaped doors to those from the 3 window among other more subtle differences so the doors are now euro style with the locks filled with stretched sprue. I also smoothed the roof but i havent yet smoothed the cowl as the vent may be useful as the charging hub as i'm going electric. I printed out a tesla motor but it just looked boring so instead i've used 2 rossler promod boxes, some random parts and some vespa wheels to make a more intersting ev double motor. its not based on any motor, just made to look like it might be usable. Because i'm going for twin motors in the rear this will be a 2 seater only and i might use the  dash and seats from the chrysler atlantic kit but thats not decided yet. Well productivity was high this morning. Ignition wires plumbed, interior set up almost complete, may need to add some risers for the front seats but maybe not. Carbs and their frogmouth air cleaners are ready to mount. Last details to source and decide on are taillights and headlights, and find where I stashed that miniscule bag of door handles??‍♂️.

thanks for looking.

Since this is going electric I would include a feature that seems almost common on evs,so to that end I've grafted the moon roof from a fujimi new mini in, and since they fit the indents in cowl i'm probably going to use mini side mirrors too even though they will be near useless.DSC01614.thumb.JPG.57db2f90fd0ec002938695bc922a1126.JPG

and since I'm planning to use 20" wires and still want it low with fenders I chopped up a set of truck fenders to make a start on the them. My intent is to raise the fender at an angle and then use a second set to extend the front edge down. If this works i should end up with a similar look to some boyd style fenders and will give me the front wheel location

DSC01615.thumb.JPG.15b35467529486be979cb6409f505c39.JPG

I've got some more mods to come once the fenders are roughed in and the roof has set up some more

a very rough mock up to check the look. I've added a small wedge to the front of the body. this was mainly because i wanted to lift the rear of the body to give it some forward rake as its still a hotrod and i want the fenders fairly level to the ground. by adding the wedge to the body it also somewhat cleaned up the front end as it all lines up with the grille and doors. I still need to extend the rear edge of the fenders down though the shorter end is starting to grow on me. and the front fenders are now 6mm further forward but i still intend extending them down to the ground. I'm now thinking about the headlights and they wont be in the stock location but instead mounted centrally below the grille like some gt racers. The wheels wont be staying chrome

I appreciate the likes folks, but you might be about to change your minds, lol. For about a year now I've had a hankering to make a modern hypercar with a pre war car and I've saved parts with a cord in mind for the basis but it seems more fitting to use a 32 ford. This is why i went electric with this and will hopefully help make some sense of the pics until its more together as i'm questioning muself just now, lol. I'm sure it will work out.....

I've cut multiple slices into a spare grille so i could bend it. realising an electric car didn't need an open grille made this possible as i dont think i could bend the centre. I intend to graft this into the stock grille a little steeper than in the pics with the bottom edge in line with the stock bumper mount. I'm thinking to make this open and have a drinks fridge inside, while the engine bay will be the trunk. If i add the extra needed wedge to the fenders instead of the body this should leave plenty space for batteries and i'll make a notched firewall to use the tesla management parts i printed. Ya know, this might be a practical hotrod, lol.

appologies for the poor pics, the suns gone down

Well this update is not about me or my build, I mentioned that my son was here visiting and that he took an interest, so here is his completed ford small block in Tahiti blue.
he is pretty happy with it and has some some great skills that he can take away.

Yes, the AMT '34 sedan may be obsolete since the Revel releases.

Since I've never found a 1/25th '34 sedan woody, maybe I'll que up the AMT '34 sedan kit for some major "wood" body work...for a woody conversion.

Did it with the Revell Thames drag panel van......?   Doable!

If you can find a hobby shop that carries a good selection of wood and stuff for the miniature doll houses there is some really well milled moulding pieces and some of the banister rails are also usable for a1/24th or 1/25th scale woodie. I picked up some for an A model I was working on years ago from Ben Franklin Crafts but the two in our area both closed up a decade or two ago.

'32 Ford Chauffeured Driven Town Sedan - Driver needs a new cap!

I have/had a cop figure with a cap on around here somewhere. That would be a suitable chauffer cap, I think. As soon as I'm back up and around, I'll scrounge the parts bins to see if I can find him. One of the old Revell rag top kits (late 50s Ford (?)) has a male drive figure with a British driving cap on. Probably not really suitable to a chauffeur.  The figure has his right arm extended out over the back of the bench seat (around the female passenger figure). The kit was molded in a hideous orangish tone.... -RRR

Since I was mounting the gas tank inside, not between the frame rails, I had to have a filler somewhere.

I tried making a folding license plate and a recess behind that.

It works! Although it IS a bit out of scale, but it's something different, and a first for me, so that's what I enjoy, always trying new things!

Cheers!
