Went with Tamiya TS88 Titanium Silver for the main color. Chosen largely because I had the brand new can on-hand and also because it’s a nice color that should look really nice on a street rod sedan. For the engine I had a partial can leftover of Tamiya TS92 Metallic Orange. I will also use this color to sparingly accent a few other small parts. These are just base coats. Everything will get a healthy coating of gloss clear. ? Those colours go so well together! 3
Dennis Lacy Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 Getting more paintwork done. The frame and some other parts have been clear coated which darkened up the Titanium Silver nicely. Can’t wait to see the color polished and waxed! Gonna try on Friday to get the frame masked and the floor sprayed flat black. 10
bill-e-boy Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 Looks like I wont make the cut off deadline. I have too much to do and no time left before we head off on holiday from Monday till the middle of October. Coming to US for a family holiday. Disneyland, Vegas, Longbeach for the swapmeet and more slum time around LA. It is the shitty 11hr flight NZ to LA that I am not looking forward. Hope to have some fun time with the grandsnots and their parents. I know LA and California is not all of the US but it is accessible to us from NZ although now there are direct flights NZ to Detroit - 16hr flights 2
bill-e-boy Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 @Kit Karson. I used the same colour combo of Titanium Silver and Metallic orange on a 56 Nomad I built a little while ago - It is a great combination. Silver was on top 2

Phildaupho Posted September 20, 2024 Posted September 20, 2024 I finished my Tudor build today. It was inspired by a car I have seen many times and I have always really liked the way it looks. I am going to post more photos and details Under Glass. 16
bill-e-boy Posted September 20, 2024 Posted September 20, 2024 Nice build. It has a nice 60's feel to it 1
mrm Posted September 22, 2024 Author Posted September 22, 2024 Nice. Definitely a fine vintage feel to it. 1
Dennis Lacy Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 Did a bunch of the fiddly detail painting today of the chassis parts, engine parts and some black washing. After assembling the intake, supercharger, carbs and filters I couldn’t resist a quick engine mock up. Now that the trans is painted aluminum the engine needs a clear coat. Trying to decide if I want to use a distributor or a mag. ? 9
Bullybeef Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 It all looks pretty fine from here@Dennis Lacy, I think a distributer would suit the era of the build, but magnetos look way cooler! Either way I’m sure it will be awesome. 2
Dennis Lacy Posted September 23, 2024 Posted September 23, 2024 More work on my Tudor. The interior in this kit is pretty plain. Added window crank and door handles from a Revell ‘37 Pickup and armrests sliced off of a pair of Revell ‘40 Ford door panels. Detailed the gauge panel with the kit gauge decals and flowed black paint into the insert background. Added a shifter from Revell’s 29/30 hot rod kits, ebrake handle from a Revell 27 Touring and some AMT seatbelts. With that the interior is ready to paint and I’ll be chipping away during the week. ? 7

That’s one area that I need to add some more detail to, I always skimp on the interior details. Well done in that regard sir. 4

Thanks - Tamiya Light Blue Metallic goes on real nice directly from the spray can. It is very shiny but I did add a couple of coats of Tamiya clear. 3
catpack68 Posted September 24, 2024 Posted September 24, 2024 (edited) I finally have an update on my 32 Tudor.I have been lazy for the last couple of weeks? I started assembling the engine this evening. I decided to use some resin SBC downdraft headers from VGC resins. I really like the way they look and they tuck in the frame rails pretty tight. Going to start getting the body and interior primed this week. The mufflers are Thrush resin Mufflers from VGC resins too with parts box turndowns.I am going to be using all four armrests from the Lindberg 64 Dodge kit and Highlight Model Studio window and door handles for the interior.More progress pics soon. The deadline is not far away!? Edited September 25, 2024 by catpack68 7

dino246gt Posted September 27, 2024 Posted September 27, 2024 Finally got some bench time for the sedan build off, been busy with "stuff"..............AND.................I started an early Falcon gasser! But I made up 3 pulleys, added an alternator, fan and styrene belt, plus a rad and upper and lower rad hoses. Still need linkages, tail lights, interior door panels and finishing touch-ups, all doable! Cheers to ALL the entrants in this fun build off, there's some fantastic '32s on here! 8
Bullybeef Posted September 27, 2024 Posted September 27, 2024 That’s going to look killer when you finish it Dennis!?? 2
