.........is going offline permanently on June 23rd. If there’s any tips, how to’s, photo’s, etc. that you want to save, better download them from the site before then.

So sad.  I was not a member but it was a good resource.   They had been around a long time.

Understood. And I agree, I don't do facebook anymore. Someone hacked my account. They asked for my dl and old credit card numbers and all sorts of stuff. Someone was sure trying to steal my identity. Must have thought I was stupid and would just turn over all that info. lol

The FB group is up to 971 members, lots of photos posted.  Seems pretty active.  Makes sense to go where people are, plus having no cost of maintaining a website…

Everyone can go to Tom Birky's shorttrackmodels.com. Tom has added several different nascar sections, plus unlike the people at Ayer's Tom cares. Screw fb.

This is a great site, lots of knowledge and friendly members, many who came from Freds Short Track Forum when it closed down. Which I had done in 2004! Keep the Short Track alive...

What happened to Fred? He was a good guy and came to the NNL East a couple of times, I still have some of his parts that I use.

His company name FRW appears on a Slixx decal sheet. He may have had some serious family issues going on a while back.

Yes he did, I was an Administrator on his site and had mastered a few parts for him. I'm sorry to say I bailed when things went sideways over there, lots of drama towards the end.

The Facebook site is decent. Plenty of activity and information shared there. Day to day traffic on the Randy Ayers site was dwindling away, especially on the historical threads which initially drew me, and many others, to that site. Now? I have what I need, from multiple sources as well as this one, for the historic builds I want to create and it can slide off into the ocean.

I've enjoyed the Randy Ayers site for many years and used it for info on car details. Some years back, after other sources of info slipped away, I began relying on my own abilities to research and discover useful information to build more accurate cars. Not that hard to find. But that site pulled together so many well-informed people that it will be hard, if not impossible, to replace.

Thanks, I appreciate it I dig your work too. I should be approved by now and will check in a bit. I quit FB back in 2019, family stuff I need to avoid.

They had a big crash of the website a number of years ago that took several months to bring the site back up.  The activity on the site dropped precipitously afterwards.

A real shame Randy is shutting down. I was very active on it until I switched interest to road racing type cars and joined this forum. But still it is a piece of history disappearing. The option to join on Facebook is a no go for me. I know if I... or rather when I get hacked Zuckerberg won't lift a finger to help.

So I joined Tom Birky's site. Looks wonderful. One life ends, one begins...

Welcome to the short track forum Pierre! Look forward to seeing your builds.

Also glad to hear you are at short track, Pierre. Don't be afraid to post your amazing road racing builds there too. It's really for any kind of car even street machines or show room builds. Totally agree with you about Facebook.

I'm having problems with picture size at the new site, that's why I haven't been there much. Hard to post from my phone, I'll try to crop some shots and see if that helps.

Bob, if you use postimage.org, which is free and very easy to use, it will automatically make your picture the correct size for forums. I'm not sure which posting site you are using.  But you might want to give it a try. Very easy peasy.
