Chariots of Fire Posted September 23, 2024 Posted September 23, 2024 Are you sure that won't start up on its own? Wonderful detail work!! 1
Mike Slapattack Posted September 23, 2024 Posted September 23, 2024 That engine detailing is superb! 1
NerdmanB Posted September 24, 2024 Posted September 24, 2024 Thanks for the info on the bolts I will check them out. I will keep watching your builds. I am always amazed at your skill. Brian 1
Randy D Posted October 8, 2024 Author Posted October 8, 2024 Hi Folks, Brian K. , Thank you I am always inspired by your plow truck posts!!! Jeff, Thank you my friend. Your Pete came out awesome! Jurgen, Appreciate the comment, I work way too slow for that to happen? Gary, Thank you for the kind remarks. Charles, Thank you , no batteries yet Mike, Glad you are following along! Brian P. Your welcome and thanks! Some progress..... This transkit has the a/c condenser as a separate screen with the pipe unions printed with the radiator frame. I added some fittings and piping for the hi an low lines.. Working on the piping. The printed hose clamps are nicely done but I wanted to incorporate clamps like these.... I kitbashed mine from 3d printed pieces. This shows my first one and the kit ones.... That is all for now, Thanks for looking in! Randy 4
BK9300 Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 Just stunning detail, Randy - motivates one to do better! 1
Gary Chastain Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 If your fingers were not in the picture, I would say “that is an awesome picture of the real motor”. Outstanding detail, well done. 1
Biggu Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 Wow!! Those clamps are perfect !! Really adds realism. Your engine is BEAUTIFUL. I can’t wait for more !! Jeff
RoninUtah Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 That’s the most amazingly realistic model truck engine I’ve ever seen! This is scale model building on a completely different level. Incredible work! 1
Randy D Posted October 29, 2024 Author Posted October 29, 2024 Hi Folks Brian K. , I do appreciate the kind words, i just have to quit spending so much time going thru your build thread? Thank you Gary, now you just need to post a rivet update? Victor, Glad you like it. Jeff, Thanks buddy! Appreciate it Brian S. Thank you Mike! Thank you Ron. Update time... Doing some detailing on the transmission. The model represents an Eaton Fuller.... Added the hoses between the slave, ranger and splitter cylinders and valves..... working on the shifter.... Continued in just a second..... 2
Randy D Posted October 29, 2024 Author Posted October 29, 2024 more.... Using some CTM resin u joints that I drilled and pinned to make them functional and added some detail to the shift knob. Weathered it up a bit... That is all for now, Thank you for looking in! Randy 2
BK9300 Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 (edited) Just spectacular, Randy - my magnifying desk lamp, and two pair of readers couldn't handle the scale of the fittings you are able to manipulate. Your 'Birdcage' shifter was amazing, as is this shifter - incredibly realistic overall! Edited October 29, 2024 by BK9300 1
Biggu Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 MIND BLOWING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You and Brian should have your own section on SUPER DETAILING ! The shifter and transmission lines are perfect, what wire do you use ? Clearly I'm using the wrong stuff... the engine and the transmission , should be on a stand beside the truck... or at least on a chain and hoist, pretending to install into the truck, it is WAY too good and WAY too much detail to hide between the frame rails under a hood ! Randy, this is absolutely into another class of detailed build, I am in awe.... take a bow ! That update was well worth waiting for.... man you guys sure do keep raising the bar.... I won't be able to reach ..... fantastic... Jeff 1
Rockford Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 Makes you wonder where it ceases being modelling and becomes an art form. Really breathtaking stuff. Well done. 1
Gary Chastain Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 Speechless, you guys just keep raising the bar, museum quality for sure. 1
Modelbuilder Mark Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 outstanding work so far, this is very impressive detail work. 1
Randy D Posted November 19, 2024 Author Posted November 19, 2024 Brian, Thank you, yeah the Birdcage shifter was Just a wee bit shorter? Jeff, appreciate you checking in here my friend! Thank you Steve! Glad you are liking this Gary! Thanks Mark! Update.... Working on some pedals for this one... Clutch assembly ref. pics.... Making up the parts ..... More ..... 3
Randy D Posted November 19, 2024 Author Posted November 19, 2024 Next up is the throttle pedal.... ref... making up the parts... That is all for now. Thanks for looking in ! Randy 2
Biggu Posted November 19, 2024 Posted November 19, 2024 ???Randy ……. My friend……. You need a doctor !!! Holy cow this is unreal !!! You and Brian have raised the bar 5 or 6 notches ! I was blown away with the shifter , but, this is on a whole new level ! Stunning detailed engineering ! What a pleasure to marvel at. You guys have unbelievable skills. This is just spectacular ! I can’t wait for more. ……. Fabulous !
BK9300 Posted November 19, 2024 Posted November 19, 2024 (edited) Your projects and updates are well worth waiting for - they are always amazing! You must almost need a jeweler's eyepiece to see what you are fabricating - the sub-components are jewelry like in complexity and execution - very well done. But I bet the folks in your 'paint' shop won't be pleased about painting all that detail! Edited November 19, 2024 by BK9300 typo 1
