Bainford Posted August 9, 2024 Posted August 9, 2024 What a good looking Ford. Man, that is just cooking. Love it!

Fireballs kit (along with the wheels/tires) includes the axles and all suspension pieces, driveshafts, and transfer case. Also a couple crossmembers for the frame to bring it to F250 spec. For the body he's included in the kit the emblems, clearance lights, and optional western mirrors (mirrors are purchased separately). I think it was 3 different choices for wheels offered as well. Everything was top notch quality and fits together well, highly recommended if your interested in building one yourself! Correct me if I'm mistaken, but at one point Joseph had to discontinue the F250 4x4 kit because he was being overwhelmed by all the orders for it! Anyway... Fantastic looking truck. There's just something about a Highboy with the '70 grille and some period aftermarket wheels.

Chevy must have liked it too, used one for '71 and '72 pickups. IMO, Ford should have kept it 2 more years!
STU111 Posted August 11, 2024 Posted August 11, 2024 Great looking truck! Nice light weathering makes it look like it’s used daily but well cared for. Top stuff. ??
bogger44 Posted August 12, 2024 Author Posted August 12, 2024 Thanks again guys! I had missed out on purchasing one before he discontinued it for a time. I, too, have become really fond of the '70 front end. 1
Brutalform Posted August 19, 2024 Posted August 19, 2024 Fantastic job, Tony! This is the nicest version I’ve seen of this truck built. I did this one a while ago, before Joseph came out with the chassis upgrade, using aftermarket resin springs and parts. But that darn box on mine just wouldn’t line up. What did you do to get yours straight?

What did you do to get yours straight? Thanks Tom, and sorry for that late reply. For mine, during mock-ups, I found two things that seemed like it would help remedy that situation. I first mounted the cab to the chassis, and in doing so didn't seat the leading edge (behind the bumper) all the way down over the framerails. Then when throwing the box on I kind of repeated the process, this time with the rear mounting tabs. I believe those tabs a just slightly inserted into the holes. Pretty sure the front ones are about half way inserted. This also helped remedy the bowed-up look it had in the center like it was an old worn out plow truck. She's not completely lined up, but much, much better. This worked for me at least, don't know if it will work for all or maybe was just pure luck. I've got their '72 F250 plow truck to tackle someday and hope to get a similar result with it. Edited August 22, 2024 by bogger44

I also have the plow truck in my stash. I also have Joseph’s conversion kit too. I was thinking of possibly building an earlier Ford truck with it. 1
