Mopar - D Posted August 9, 2024 Posted August 9, 2024 (edited) This is a Heart’s Bandit resin body for the 71 Plymouth Scamp that is interchangeable with the Revell 68 Dart body. I’ve already started with Scale Finishes Dodge Black and using Duster seats. I’m missing a Scamp dashboard and not sure if there’s anything else that would work for me. I sprayed the front grill and back bumper with the Revell Chrome Spray and I’m impressed with how easy it is to use and the results. Edited August 10, 2024 by Mopar - D 4
JimmyRiggins Posted August 9, 2024 Posted August 9, 2024 That’s one nice bit of kit you’ve got there! Been wondering about the revelll chrome spray, and this may have sold me on it! I’ve always had a thing for 71 scamps, Can’t wait to see what you’ll do with it!
1972coronet Posted August 10, 2024 Posted August 10, 2024 Are you sure that's not a Bandit Resins 1971 Scamp , @Mopar - D ? Bandit Resin - 1971 Plymouth Scamp - 1/25 Scale Resin Parts and Accessories for Model Cars and Trucks (banditresins.com)
Moparman18064 Posted August 10, 2024 Posted August 10, 2024 You could possibly use the post 72 Duster/ Dart dash from MPC
slusher Posted August 10, 2024 Posted August 10, 2024 I remember the Scamp well Dan, look forward to following your build..

Thanks Jimmy, the chrome spray is a little expensive but I think it’s worth it. 16 hours ago, catpack68 said: Nice! Do you have a link for Hearts? Thanks Scott, for some reason I was thinking Hearts when I typed this but it’s actually Bandit Resins as 1972 coronet as posted 15 hours ago, 1972coronet said: Are you sure that's not a Bandit Resins 1971 Scamp , @Mopar - D ? yh70 Posted August 10, 2024 Posted August 10, 2024 (edited) looking good my friend..if you want to clear coat the Revel Chrome spray light coats until you get the finish you looking for. let it set a day somewhere in a dust free area then lite coat it with this. always practice on on a plastic spoon first... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003JCN91I?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details Edited August 10, 2024 by yh70

Mopar - D Posted August 16, 2024 Author Posted August 16, 2024 I was going through my parts boxes and found 2 Duster bucket seats and I worked in the Sport Darts dashboard that is the same as what is in the Scamp. I’ve gone back to work now so my bench time is limited. 3
Mopar - D Posted August 18, 2024 Author Posted August 18, 2024 I was able to get the engine built and wired plus a second coat of black on the body. I also did the over spray on the chassis. Next will be painting a white stripe on the back. 2
Mopar - D Posted August 19, 2024 Author Posted August 19, 2024 I was able to get some work done on the Scamp over the weekend. Sprayed a second coat of black on the body and some work on the chassis. 2
Mopar - D Posted August 21, 2024 Author Posted August 21, 2024 I’ve made some progress on the interior it’s just a test fit to see how the colors work. 4
Mopar - D Posted August 25, 2024 Author Posted August 25, 2024 I was able to get the stripe on and some clear coat. 3
slusher Posted August 25, 2024 Posted August 25, 2024 Nice progress, nice interior! Your doing a great job, Dan!
Mopar - D Posted August 26, 2024 Author Posted August 26, 2024 Thanks Carl. I’ve got a lot of buffing ahead of me to get it to shine.
Bainford Posted August 26, 2024 Posted August 26, 2024 I have been following your build with interest. I missed out on the Scale Coachworks Dart when it was available, but this Bandit body looks good, seems to have a nice shape and proportion. I am thinking of using a Demon to convert one to a Dart. Your build is coming along nicely, the white stripe really wakes it up.

Moparman18064 Posted August 29, 2024 Posted August 29, 2024 Coming along nicely! Looks really good on those rally wheels
Mopar - D Posted August 30, 2024 Author Posted August 30, 2024 Thanks Rich, I’m now in process of buffing out the paint.
Mopar - D Posted October 8, 2024 Author Posted October 8, 2024 I know it’s been over a month since I updated my Scamp I’ve been working on the clear coats. After 3 coats and 3 buffing. I’m calling it good. I’m now working on the BMF. 2

It does work, I used it in my 72 Demon build that is ongoing. On a resin body like I am using, it took a good bit of file work for good fit. Edited October 8, 2024 by Moparman18064 1
Mopar - D Posted October 8, 2024 Author Posted October 8, 2024 Thanks guys I used the 75 Dart dashboard. 3
