Actually the "kids these days" in this meme are spending their time doing the things they want to do, rather than having to fix a car that keeps breaking down every weekend.   ?

As far as tire changing goes, I haven't needed to do that in many years myself.

In my opinion you kinda missed the point of both memes, Brian.  We weren't working on our cars because they were "breaking down".... We worked on our cars to make them cooler and faster and a lot more fun to drive...There are still young guys (and girls) doing that, today... It's just not as common and they're doing on the cars that they like.

And even if you don't ever need to change a tire, everyone should know how to.... Hell, it was a requirement when I took drivers ed.

A few years back I went to my local big chain auto parts store and asked the guy behind the counter for a set of 8 AC R45TS spark plugs. "What's your year, make, model and engine size?" he asked. "Does it really matter? I see boxes of them on the shelf just behind your head." I replied. "Year, make, model and engine size!" he demanded. "1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429" I answered. His fingers slammed the keyboard loudly as he entered the info. "Those spark plug don't fit that car!" he exclaimed, looking at me like I was extremely stupid...

I had a similar experience, tuning my motorcycle. First off the kid didn't understand the difference between a non-resistor plug and standard one. Then he was confused as to why I needed a dozen for a twin motorcycle,  I briefly explained what a "plug chop" was and was on my way. I guess one year at votech makes you an expert in things mechanical now. And to think I've spent a life so far working and learning. Who would have known.

I would be a little skeptical at first, but I would take off the head and tail, but if that wasn't allowed, I would probably avoid driving a chicken.

Classic Car Memes

I'd drive that thing with a cocky attitude!
